Introduction - the Five Commissions
"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law (Torah), happy is he" (Prov.29:18, KJV).
Throughout the long years of its mission, this ministry has always known what it was called at do at any one moment in time. This knowledge has come through prophetic visions and revelations from Yahweh which have been systematically recorded and published over the last three decades. You will find most of them on this website. These include the five commisions revealed in 1990, which is a broad overview of what we have been told to do:
The most recent revelation is a prophetic vision received in 2007 which is recorded below. We have been carrying out our five commissions in different ways and with different emphases over the years which Commissions #1 (teaching simple salvation in Christ), #3 (for example, opposing the religions of evolution and atheism, and exposing the cults) and #4 (see, for example, our many sermons) having been carried out continuously. For the first few years we were largely congregation-planting and building (Commission #2 - mostly in Scandinavia and India, though elsewhere too) and latterly have focussed more on teaching ministry (and in particular, through the Internet). We expect to return to congregation-planting again in the near future as we enter the last phase of our mission and a prophetically anticipated revival in Scandinavia. Commission #5 does not take place until just before the Great Tribulation though it is in the preparation - see The Final Gathering. Our work has provoked much hostility, as we knew it would.
- 1. Making disciples of all men for Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ);
- 2. Gathering the elect into assemblies (churches) and communities;
- 3. Planting the keys of truth everywhere;
- 4. Lifting a prophetic warning voice against sin; and
- 5. Gathering the 10 tribes of Israel into end-time communities.
The Processes at Work
From our inception in 1984 when we received a revelation to begin this work, to its organisation in 1987, we have always understood Yahweh to be working through two main spiritual processes:
Reformation is the constant, daily change and santification of the soul, congregations (churches), ministries and of the messianic community (body of Christ) as a whole in small or larger increments through personal and collective repentance and grace. Restoration is the bringing back of that which has been lost because of sin and disobedience. This restoration includes both a restoration of broken relationships between Elohim (God) and man, and between man and man (through the Spirit of Elijah), as well as the restoration of lost doctrines, truths and practices which has figured prominently in this ministry. As far as the latter is concerned, this ministry has been in a constant process of restoration, most of it gradual but some of it involving major quantum leaps such as in 1999 when we repented of our lawlessness in many areas and began observing the true sabbath, festivals of Yahweh, dietary laws and so forth.
- 1. Reformation; and
- 2. Restoration
Phases of the Ministry
This ministry has essentially passed through three phases and has now entered its fourth and last phase:
For a fuller explanation of these phases, please read the introductory article to this website.
- 1. Leaving false religion (Exodus Phase) (1987-1992);
- 2. Becoming Evangelical (7 year Reformation Phase) (1992-1999);
- 3. Becoming Messianic (7 year Restoration Phase) (1999-2006); and
- 4. Becoming New Covenant Christian (Completion Phase) (since 2006).
To some extent, these phases have overlapped in places though there were and have been definite 'breaks' over the years - the two major ones being breaks in 1992 with false Restorationism and in 1999 with some practical aspects of antinomianism (lawlessness). This has been a part of our continuous repentance as we have sought the fullness of the Kingdom of Yahweh-Elohim.
THE VISION (2007)
In 2007 Yahweh showed us in a very clear prophetic vision of where we were and where we were headed:
I saw a road heading through a valley towards some distant mountains over which it passed to some unseen final destination. It was a very narrow road, more like a path or country lane. Ahead of me was a small hamlet consisting of only two houses beyond which was a gentle descent into a valley and beyond that the mountains. There was one house on either side of the road and opposite one another so that the road passed directly between them. Where the road was, there was much light (as along its entire length), as there was also in the valley beyond. There was an even brighter light coming from behind the mountains into which the road disappeared. Behind the two houses, and on either side of this little path, was first twilight and then complete darkness. The backs of the two houses jutted out into this darkness. As I looked closer I could see that the backs of both houses were crumbling into ruins so that in reality only about half of each house was habitable. As the vision ended I heard Yahweh speak: "Walk this road".
Upon the vision closing I knew that the two houses represented two systems of religious belief and practice. The house on the left represented Evangelical Christianity begun by Martin Luther and his associates in the 1500's and the house on the right represented the Messianic Judaism and Israelitism started by Jewish converts to Christ principally from the mid 1900's to today.
The solid side of the Evangelical House facing the road and bathed in the light represented the basic truths of the message of salvation: faith in the resurrected Christ and salvation by grace. The part crumbling at the back in the darkness represented all its false traditions in its many branches - its antinomianism (lawlessness), 'once saved, always saved' heresy, false Sunday Sabbath, false pagan traditions (like Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc.), compromises with statism, Catholic creeds, Replacement Theology, churchianity, and so on.
The solid side of the Messianic House facing the road and bathed in light represented the ancient truths of Torah-obedience required of those trusting fully in their Messiah, Yah'shua (Jesus) including observing the true seventh day Sabbath, the seven festivals of the Commonwealth of Israel, the lunar calendar, dietary rules, etc.. The part crumbling at the back in the darkness represented all its false traditions in its many branches - its anti-Christianity (failing to recognise the hand of Yahweh in Protestantism over the centuries), attachment to false Talmudic doctrine and customs (including false festivals like Hanukkah), belief that the Israeli Republic is the restoration of Biblical Israel (it isn't - it's a counterfeit), its kabbalistic occultism, its heresies concerning the deity of Messiah, its racism (viewing Jews as superior to other people, including Ephraim) and its failure to acknowledge that Joseph is the leader of Messianic Israel, not Judah, and so on.
Our goal is what lies beyond that mountain which is far greater than anything ever brought forth by either evangelical Christianity or Messianism even though it contains the indispensible elements of both of these 'houses'. Though these two houses are not the literal House of Ephraim and Judah, which are distinct tribal entities, they are certainly symbolic of their attitudes and behaviours, weaknesses and strengths. We represent the New Israel that will be and we are currently at the point of that road passing between the two houses to the One House of Josephite Messianic Israel. To the truths of these two traditions Yahweh has added yet more which he has restored through us and doubtless through some others. This is our vision. This is where we are going.
As a ministry we started moving beyond being juxtaposed between the evangelical and messianic houses (as 'Messianic Evangelicals') and into the final completion phase of our calling (though elements of that have always been present) which will occupy us for the remainder of the time before Yah'shua (Jesus) returns.
Something quite extraordinary is soon to happen in the Body of Christ - an anointing which we call the 'Sukkot anointing' - which will be unlike anything that has ever been seen before. We ourselves expect to be utterly transformed by it though our message will remain the same - just as Dwight L.Moody experienced whilst walking down Wall Street, Chicago when the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) suddenly filled him.
In the meantime, we have a feast for you on this website and invite you to make a careful study of it and would like to invite you to join our discussion groups to meet like-minded souls and join our congregations (New Covenant Assemblies of Yahweh) wherever they are forming around the world. Baruch haShem Yahweh!
