The spirit of a community (or esprit de corps) may be said to be the common or shared spirit of a group of people united by a common cause that inspires enthusiasm, devotion, loyalty, and comradeship. It holds a strong regard for the honour of that community. Because it is a function of the people involved, its quality, colouration and intensity is constantly changing, depending who is in the group at any one particular moment of time. This is certainly true of NCAY which has undergone a large turnover of membership in the space of 30 or so years and in many differenrt countries. Thus at different periods of our history the European, Indian or African congregations have dominated by virtue of numbers.
If there is a strong leadership, then the leadership will very much set the tone of the whole membership. Inevitably the founder of the group catalyses the overall spirit and the case of NCAY this would be Lev-Tsiyon whose energy, teachings, doctrines, sermons, prophecies and revelations have shaped that spirit. His successors will do the same.
Though the human personalities themselves - the founder, leaders, and general membership - have played, and continue to play - a major part in shaping the spirit of NCAY, it is the activity of the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) which is the primary ingredient and consequently is shared by all truely regenerated believers in the Master Yah'shua the Messiah (Lord Jesus Christ), giving them a 'supra' identity that enables souls from different groups to spiritual identify, and identify with, one another. This might be said to be the overall 'character' of the Body of Messiah (Christ).
For the visitor, investigator or new member, trying to form a picture of what NCAY is like can be a daunting task. Most will read one or two theological articles and form an inadequate picture based on those alone. And though a great deal can be gleaned from reading NCAY materials online or in print, you cannot really know a people until you have met them in the flesh. Nevertheless the mind, heart, doctrines or beliefs of the community as a whole are very important and most certainly distinct so we urge you to begin there using this website to the fullest possible extent, join our on-line discussion groups, see our videos, and join in our congregational worship as you are able.
What follows in the Register below is just a small extract of the many hundreds of articles that might have been included. If you feel that others should be added that represent the communal Messianic Evangelical spirit, do please get in contact and make suggestions. All ideas for the improvement of the website are always welcome. Hopefully what is here will give you a taste of just who we are and what we aspire to be in Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ).
