Sukkot #5 The Cloud
Yahweh's Supernatural Covering
Throughout Israel's desert wandering she was covered with a physical Sukkah or Tent in the form of a supernatural cloud by a day and a pillar of fire by night which everyone could see. Can you imagine such a thing in our day? In fact, Yahweh tells us that in the seven years before Yah'shua returns, we shall have the same physical cloud and pillar of fire again so that we will know the Presence both in our hearts as well as with our eyes. Let's read about this repeat phenomenon just before the final Yom Teruah when Yah'shua returns, the final Yom Kippur when He judges the world, and the final Sukkot which is the Marriage Feast of the Lamb right before the Millennium begins:
"And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, 'We will eat our own food and wear our own apparel; only let us be called by your name, to take away our reproach.' In that day the Branch of Yahweh shall be beautiful and glorious; and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing for those of Israel who have escaped. And it shall come to pass that he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy -- everyone who is recorded among the living in Jerusalem. When Yahweh has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purged the blood of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning, then Yahweh will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a covering (sukkah). And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain" (Isa.4, NKJV).
This supernatural covering will occur at the time of The Last Gathering prior to the return of the authentic Twelve Tribes returning to the Holy Land together. Any gathering back to the Promised Land without this covering is counterfeit or false. Needless to say, then, no authentic gathering to the Holy Land has yet taken place for it must have the Sukkot Anointing.
The cloud and fire gave the true believers anciently - as it will give the true believers in the very last days - three important blessings: light (emet or truth), warmth (ahavah or love) and protection (the blood covering of Messiah). The cloud and pillar of fire in both Moses' day, and in the last generation, is - and will be - a Person - Yah'shua in all His Glory. We know that this is so because of the symbolic use of 'clouds' elsewhere in Scripture always refers to living beings, human or deity:
"I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed" (Dan.7:13-14, NKJV).
What does this mean?
"'Behold, He (Yah'shua) is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. I am the Alef (Alpha) and the Taw (Omega), the Beginning and the End,' says the Master, 'who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty'" (Rev.1:7-8, NKJV).
"Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, 'Behold, Yahweh comes with ten thousands of His set-apart ones (saints)'" (Jude 14, NKJV).
Clouds therefore either represent Deity or those exalted by Deity because they are obedient believers, the tzaddikim or 'righteous ones':
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Yah'shua (Jesus), the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of Elohim (God)" (Heb.12:1-2, NKJV).
"Who are these who fly like a cloud, and like doves to their roosts?" (Isa.60:8, NKJV).
"Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, 'Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Yah'shua (Jesus), who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven'" (Acts 1:9-11, NKJV).
This "cloud" is a living entity! It is Elohim and it is the redeemed of Elohim! Who, specifically, are these redeemed ones? These are the children of the First Resurrection, because the cloud is also a wedding chuppah - they are the Children of Sukkot! This is the Mystical Bride of the Bridegroom, our Messiah who are IN Messiah Himself. Where He covers, they are there too - the patriarchs, the Council of Yah's elohim, their wives hidden in them as they are hidden in Yahweh through Yah'shua the Messiah. In this way the Family of Elohim is indivisible, linked together, and echad.
Why a cloud by day and fire by night? At night the camp of Israel is still, not moving. By day it journeys. By day, the Bridegroom goes out and labours and the Bride maintains the home front. At night the Bridegroom is with the Bride making fire. sShalom!
