For three days now Yahweh has been showing me a vision of the number "50" - He did it again last night so I am taking this as a clear instruction that I must do something about it. So why is the number 50 especially important to us now?

First some historical facts and then an historical dispute which we must resolve if we are to keep our fourth annual appointment with Yahweh on time. 5 is the number of grace, and 10 is the number of perfect order - multiplied together they represent Yahweh's undeserved loving kindness or undeserved favour to man which, when coupled to His tavnith (pattern) as exemplified by Yahweh's Grand Summary of His Torah or mitzvot (commandents) in the 10 Commandments, reveal and present to us the true coupling of His will - GRACE AND ORDER COMBINED AS A SINGLE ECHAD OR UNITY - evangelicals and messianics were never supposed to separate them. True grace is never without perfect order, and perfect order is never without grace, for these lead to lawlessness and legalism, respectively. This is "the grace of Elohim (God) in emet (truth)" (Col.1:6, NKJV) - in order and in tavnith.

We see this perfect combination of principles incarnated in the Law of Jubilee. Every 50th year Yahweh commanded that all debts be forgiven or nullified, all Hebrew slaves were to be freed, and all tribal or ancestral land be returned to their original owners (Lev.25:10). The Jubilee of jubilees is even grander in its scope because this 'Cosmic Jubilee' is a time when all the captives of hell are set free after they have served a period of time determined by Yahweh:

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of Elohim (God) our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim.2:3-4, KJV).

"That in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Messiah (Christ), both which are in heaven and which are on earth -- in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will" (Eph.1:10-11, NKJV).

Finally, the number 50 is important for all those who wish to meet Yahweh at Shavu'ot or the Feast of Pentecost also called the Feast of Weeks. Yesterday I suggested that nearly all Jews and Messianics assemble at the wrong time for Shavu'ot in spring (late May or early June), including most who observe the lunar-solar calendar. A careful examination of the scriptures that speak of the wheat harvest demonstrate that it is at the end of the summer, not in the spring, in the fourth rather than the third month (Amos 8:1-6; Judg.15:1-5; Dan.2:35; Joel 2:23-24; Num.18:12) because it takes four months for spring wheat to mature. Shavu'ot is 'Second fruits' (wheat) even as Yom haBikkurim is 'First fruits' (barley) and Sukkot is 'Third fruits' (grape) - the firstfruits of crops are only offered at the three compulsory pilgramage feasts of Pesach-Matzah-Bikkurim, Shavu'ot and Sukkot.

Nearly all Jews and Messianics, when calculating Shavu'ot, count seven complete sabbaths (7x7 = 49 days) from the Wave Sheaf (Aviv 16, which is Yom haBikkurim) and then add one day (making a total of 50 days - hence the Greek name 'Pente (50)-cost'). Thus, it is claimed, Shavu'ot is the 50th day from Yom haBikkurim. Likewise, Jews and Messianics believe that the Torah or Law was given to the children of Israel at Shavu'ot, which is abolutely correct, but not using their mathametics.

Before I share with you the correct way the Omer Count to Shavu'ot is to be done, let us first prove conclusively that the way nearly all Jews and Messianics do it cannot be right.

"In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai. For they had departed from Rephidim, had come to the Wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness. So Israel camped there before the mountain" (Ex.19:1-3, NKJV; also Jubilees 1:1).

"And you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath (Aviv 16, Yom haBikkurim), from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed (A). Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath (B); then you shall offer a new grain offering to Yahweh" (Lev.23:15-16, NKJV).

• 1. Marking off 7 sabbaths from Yom haBikkurim (A); and then
• 2. Counting 50 days after the 7th of those 7 sabbaths (B).

Be sure you assemble for the correct Shavu'ot this year. I have been doing it wrong all these years but this year I mean to get it right. This is also a part of our preparation for spiritual warfare for on every divine moed of appointment Yahweh meets with His people to confer special blessings. I have discovered this to be true for sabbaths and new moons now that we are observing them correctly for He always gives us a prophetic word on these days now when we come prepared for it. The Sinai Event was particularly important both for Mosaic Israel and for Messianic Israel when the believers, assembled at the correct time at Shavu'ot (Pentecost), received a baptism of the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) and of esh (fire)! May we not miss His great blessing this Pentecost at so critical a time!

Finally, remember what the number 50 signifies - grace and perfect order as one. Whilst we seek to follow the correct order in establishing the correct Shavu'ot we must also remember to show grace to those who have not yet understood and got it wrong, just as we did for so long. This is also a time we need to made a 'spiritual jubilee', forgiving both our brethren and our enemies of their sins by extending grace to them too, esteeming them better than ourselves and letting love cover a multitude of sins. Amen!
