ARTICLE 6
SCRIPTURES
6.1. The sole authoritative Scriptures of the Missions, Branches and Central Assembliess of NCAY consist of the 66 books of the Protestant Bible Canon, from Genesis to Revelation, consisting of:
6.1.1. The 5 Books of Moses or the Torah or Pentateuch;
6.1.2. The 22 Books of the Nevi'im or Prophets;
6.1.3. The 12 Books of the Kethuvim or Writings, including Tehillim or Psalm 151 (Dead Sea Scrolls) as a non-canonical appendix;
6.1.4. The 27 Books of the Messianic Scriptures, B'rit Chadashah (New Covenant) Scriptures or New Testament, including the 29th chapter of the Book of Acts as a non-canonical appendix; and
6.1.5. 5 of the 15 Books of the 'Catholic' Apocrypha, viz. the Wisdom of Solomon, Ecclesiasticus (Sirach), Tobit and 1 & 2 Esdras as non-canonical appendices.
6.2. The primacy of the original Hebraic (Hebrew and Aramaic) autographs of both the Tanakh (Old Testament) and Messianic Scriptures (New Testament) in the quest for an accurate translation into English is affirmed, as well as, in a secondary sense, the value of the Greek Septuagint (LXX) and the Greek texts of the Messianic Scriptures (New Testament).
6.3. No single English translation of the Bible is considered perfect but preferred current versions include:
6.3.1. Messianic versions, in approximate order of preference:
6.3.1.a. Hebraic Roots Version 'New Testament' (HRV) by James Trimm;
6.3.1.b. The Aleph-Tav Old Testament (ATOT) by Gregory T.Riether;
6.3.1.c. The Messianic Aleph-Tav Scriptures Old Testament (MATS) by William H. Sandford;
6.3.1.d. The Scriptures, Instititute for Scripture Research (ISRV);
6.3.1.e. The Orthodox Jewish Bible (OB) by Phillip E. Goble;
6.3.1.f. The Complete Jewish Bible/Jewish New Testament (CJB/JNT) by David Stern;
6.3.1.g. The Restoration Scriptures, True Name edition (RSTNE, 2nd edition) by Moshe Koniuchowsky;
6.3.1.g. The Halleluyah Scriptures - Restored Paleo-Hebrew Name Scriptures (HS-RPHNS); and
6.3.1.i. The Aramaic English New Testament (AENT) by Gabriel Roth
6.3.2. Christian versions, in approximate order of preference:
6.3.2.a. The New King James Version (NKJV);
6.3.2.b. The Concordant Literal New Testament (CLNT);
6.3.2.c. The English Standard Version (ESV);
6.3.2.d. The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV);
6.3.2.e. The Amplified Version (AmpV);
6.3.2.f. The Jerusalem Bible (JB);
6.3.2.g. The Septuagint or Greek Tanakh (Old Testament) with parallel English text (LXX);
6.3.2.h. The King James Version/Authorised Version (KJV/AV);
6.3.2.i. The New American Standard Bible (NASB);
6.3.2.j. The New English Bible (NEB);
6.3.2.k. The Revised Standard Version (RSV);
6.3.2.l. The New International Version (NIV);
6.3.2.m. The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB);
6.3.2.n. The Kingdom New Testament (KNT);
6.4. Though not scripture and not always doctrinally or historically reliable, other deuterocanonical writings are recommended for private study by the Elders for historical purposes:
6.4.1. Parts of the Pseudepigrapha:
6.4.1.a. The Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs;
6.4.1.b. The First Book of Enoch;
6.4.1.c. The Book of Jasher.
6.4.2. The Epistles of the Sub-apostolic fathers, viz. the epistles of:
6.4.2.a. Clement to the Corinthians (1 Clement);
6.4.2.b. Ignatius to the Ephesians (1 Ignatius), the Magnesians (2 Ignatius), the Trallians (3 Ignatius), the Romans (4 Ignatius), the Philadelphians (5 Ignatius), the Smyrneans (6 Ignatius), and Polycarp (7 Ignatius);
6.4.2.c. Polycarp to the Philippians (1 Polycarp), and Diognetus (2 Polycarp);
6.4.2.d. Marcion, called the Martyrdom of Polycarp (Martyrdom).
6.5. The sub-canonical scriptures of the NCAY consist of:
6.5.1. The modern-day Epistles of the 12 Apostles which carry the Apostolate's imprimatur;
6.5.2. A modern-day selection of revelations, visions and prophecies received by the apostles, prophets and prophetesses of NCAY carrying the Apostolate's imprimatur called Prophetic Words of the New Covenant (PWNC) otherwise known as the Olive Branch (OB) or New Covenants & Commandments (NC&C/NCC).
