Part 6 - Social Issues: Racism & Plural Marriage
1. RACISM - MLT/NCAY is a multi-ethnic community so we do not tolerate racism or racial prejudice of any kind. Conferences are attended by representatives from many countries and races from all over the world. If you have difficulties with people from different cultures or with different skin colour, you should not attend MLT events and are not welcome.
2. PLURAL MARRIAGE (POLYGAMY) - The practice of a man having more than wife is accepted by MLT under in certain circumstances. With a large percentage of our members from Africa and elsewhere practicing this lifestyle, you may reasonably expect to find such families attending our conferences. If you find this offensive or cannot otherwise accept this biblical principle, you should not attend MLT events. If you are willing to be open-minded and non-judgmental about this, then you should study the following materials before registering so that you can resolve any prejudices and are properly orientated:
An African man with his wives and four daughters
We therefore expect those from different ethnic groups or the plural marriage lifestyle to be accorded the proper respect so that there is no impediment to the free-flow of the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) during your time with us.
Important Notice: We do not permit men from plural families to recruit single women at our Conferences! A condition for attendance at MLT/NCAY assemblies is that this rule be obeyed.
