A. Introduction Being good talmidim (disciples) means, in large measure, being competent students of the Word, the Bible. And becoming competent students of the Bible can only be accomplished by doing sound theology. What does 'doing theology' actually mean? It means thinking about Elohim (God) and what it means to believe in His existence but it is also something we do. Why do we even need to 'do theology'? Because it surrounds our whole experience of emunah (faith). Therefore theology must be done intentionally. This will, in turn, change the way we live, the ways we think about the Creator, how we relate to Him and to His people. Therefore doing theology is part of being in relationship with Yahweh. As Messianic Evangelicals we must not only do theology so that we can relate intimately to our own people but so that we can relate to other Christians and Messianic believers too. When we are more aware of our own views and why we hold them, we are better able to hear other, different, views about Elohim (God) without feeling threatened by them or threatening others. The better we are able to communicate our beliefs, the better we are then able to carry out our Five Commissions. A sign of spiritual maturity is not only to be able to communicate your own views but to be able to competently understand the views of others and why you agree or disagree with them. By being free to talk about differences not only breaks down prejudices but builds up shalom (peace) and friendship. And the only way that the Remnant will ever be able to gather, is if its different parts, who may be at different theological places at any one time, can relate to one another in acceptance and good will while differences are ironed out. Doing theology is part of that journey. Messianic Evangelicals consider the doing of theology to be extremely important especially for leadership which has a huge task ahead of it in the days ahead. As NCAY develops its educational facilities for the training up of the ministry, so it becomes important to acquire materials of the very best quality with which to stimulate and broaden the spiritual minds of its priesthood. To this end we have been gathering together a large library over the years both for the preparation of high quality materials and as a resource to visitors to our headquarters at Mishpachah Lev-Tsiyon in Sweden. Such a small ministry numerically does however mean that the economic resources for building up a quality library are extremely limited. We therefore depend in large measure on the kindness of donors and benefactors. As some prefer to send us materials directly in the form of books, we have begun compiling a list of the most urgently sought-out volumes. These you will find below. As these are sent to us, so they are removed from the 'wanted' list (#B). Those which we need the most urgently are highlighted and study bibles are marked in red. Also visitors sometimes like to bring gifts. Though none are ever expected, and rather than buy us something we might not need, why not consider bringing, or mailing, a book on the list instead? Second-hand is fine, if it's in reasonably good condition. Nearly all the books on this list are readily available on Amazon or other online book-seller.
