On Hard Work
Hard work is one of the characteristics of a Christian who has received the new birth and has entered covenants with the Almighty. Such persons are driven by a zeal to save lost souls and to build Zion, and find joy in these tasks. When a Christian becomes lazy and loses his interest in Zion it is because the New Covenant is no longer written in his heart and the Spirit has departed from him [Oppsal, Oslo, Norway].
1. Hard work enobleth the soul and the fruit of hard labour is its own reward, saith the Lord.
2. Therefore let the men and women cheerfully put their hands to the plough (Prov.20:4; Lk.9:62), that at the end of the day they may say: It is good!
Seek Perfection in Your Work
3. Whatsoever ye do ye should strive to do perfectly according to your several gifts and talents.
Hard Work is a Joy to God's Children
4. Hard work1 is a joy unto the godly but a curse unto the idle and reprobate.
God Always Works
5. I, the Lord, never cease to work, and shall not rest until the work is done and Zion is at peace (Prov.6:6-11).
Be Fruitful
6. Let the saints be fruitful2 in all their works, seeking the glory of their God as their end, for whosoever is fruitful on one level shall be fruitful on others also.
7. Let your ends {goals} be spiritual, having the object of your hope fixed andimmovable, and then ye shall be both fruitful and at rest in all that ye do, being wholly one and undivided.
