Section 140
On Evil Spirits
Liberal Christianity teaches that there is no such thing as either the devil or evil spirits (demons). The following revelation confirms the Biblical doctrine that both live and identifies some of the ways they operate [Stortinget, Oslo, Norway].
Virtue and Vice
1. Thus saith the Lord: behind every virtue and every vice lieth a spirit, the one continually leading the soul upward into Heaven and the other downward into hell.
2. The spirits of virtue, which is One Spirit, even the Holy Spirit, ministereth unto the faithful under the direction of the Father, continually moving them towards purity and holiness;
3. But the spirits of vice1 enter the souls of the rebellious under the authority of darkness, forever seeking entrance in,to tempt and lead downwards into carn- ality and immorality.
4. And in the soul of man the one spirit wrestleth with the other according to the disposition of each soul, the one [spirit] being cast out at one moment and the other at the next.
Unseen Powers
5. Verily, verily, I say unto you, that ye wrestle against unseen powers and dominions, though for the most part ye know it not (Eph.6:12).
6. If ye would be free ye must call upon My Name always, never yielding unto temptation, having a will that is fixed and immovable in Christ Jesus.
Cleave unto Holiness
7. Ye must cleave unto the spirit of holiness always, giving no place unto the tempter in your hearts, until ye have overcome2 through the blood of the Lamb.
8. I say unto the saints again, that the spirits of vice may no longer have sway in your hearts:
Cast Out Immorality
9. Cast out all that is unseemly, all immorality, all revelry3, all blasphemy4and all that worketh against the spirit of holiness, conforming yourselves inwardly and outwardly.
10. For unless ye do these things the spirits of vice will continually have a hold upon you, tempting and tormenting you until they have robbed you of your prize, even salvation in Christ Jesus.
Stubbornness and Pride
11. But there are many who because of stubbornness5 and pride6, will not confess their captivity, listening rather unto the whisperings of the mischievous spirits, and thus they are led into greater captivity until their life essence is drained away.
The Nature of Evil Spirits
12. Behold, the evil spirits will not relent, to give you space, so long as you remain in your sins, but will press on- wards until they are able to topple you7.
13. Ye need not suppose that they have any mercy in themselves, for they do not, for ye are their bread upon which they feed daily.
14. And behold, if ye take their bread away, they will resist the more, until they are finally vanquished and cast out.
15. And this cometh only through the power of the victory of Christ which was won for you at Calvary.
16. For every vice their is a[n evil] spirit, yea, one who reveleth in his art, being defiled and beyond the reach of mercy.
The Different Spirits of Vice
17. And there are spirits of murder, adultery, fornication, lust, greed, avarice, intolerance, anger, homosexuality, bestiality, robbery, violence, [spiritual] ugliness, conceit, mockery, licentiousness, yea, and in every combination and form, even as there are as many spirits who roam the earth seeking to ensnare and despoil.
18. Therefore I say unto you again, ye saints of the New Covenant, that ye become continually aware concerning yourselves, that ye may in no wise be overcome by any spirit, having a repentant heart always, not relying upon your own strength but on the strength of the Lord.
Vice is Multi-Layered
19. Behold, behind one vice there lieth a multiplicity of others that are not so easily discerned, for every manifestation of sin beginneth with small causes.
20. And for every cause that the soul yieldeth itself to, an enemy entereth unawares, inviting others in also, that vice may multiply and a feast of sin be prepared for the spirits thereof.
Knowledge and Grace
21. I say unto you, ye saints of the New Covenant, that it is one thing to receive the keys of understanding of these things, but it is another to rely upon My grace and power to remove those spirits which are attracted by your inward chaos.
Demons are Real
22. And it is a foolish and disbelieving people who say that such spirits are without substance {existence}, being in the imaginations of unenlightened minds, for these are the whisperings of Satan himself who saith there is no devil, nor angels of the devil, nor any evil;
23. And by this means the Wicked One hath beguiled man, teaching him not to exorcise evil, but to seek a compromise with it, balancing light with darkness8 -- and this is the harmony of evil, which desireth its presence, and will not flee nor yield its conquest until it is overcome by power; and for this cause I died on the Cross, saith the Lord.
False Doctrine of Good and Evil
24. Beware of all false doctrines that say ye must compromise with evil by seeking a balance with it, for by this teaching doth Satan seek to ensnare the elect whom he knoweth will not embrace naked evil.
Restore the Language of Righteousness
25. Yea, for the evil one changeth words that he might trick you, calling light darkness, and darkness light.
26. Ye must therefore restore those words which the enemies of righteousness have perverted, for unless ye have a language of righteousness, ye will not be able to defend righteousness, nor persuade sinners to turn away from all vice and embrace Me, their only hope and salvation.
27. Flee from all vice and call upon Me daily, pouring forth your souls until ye have overcome that which seeketh to prevent you from communing with your Father and calling down the powers of Heaven.
28. Ye must persevere and persist, like the woman before the lazy judge, that ye might obtain, for nothing that is worthwhile was obtained without great struggle and sacrifice.
The Saints are being Tested
29. Ye are being proved, according to immutable law rooted in love and justice, to see if ye will arise and declare war on unrighteousness for righteousness' sake, not yielding to the enemies of your souls at any time, that ye may arise perfected and victorious, to receive a crown of glory. Even so. Amen.
