Section 105
The Dual Nature of God
The following revelation was received in answer to the question, "Art thou my brother, O Lord?" Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, being both man and God, and is therefore able to fully empathise with our condition. By virtue of His humanity He is the friend and brother of the justified. The central place of the Cross and a life of humility. There is no fear of man in the Light [Oppsal, Oslo, Norway].
1. I am thy God, O son of man, by virtue of the spirit, but I am thy Brother by virtue of the flesh.
2. A brother is he who partaketh of the same nature of another, comprehending it in every degree.
The Incarnation of Christ
3. And I, the Lord thy God, even Jesus Christ, took on flesh1 and the infirmaties thereof, that I might be one with the world, bearing its burdens and the punishment of a fallen race.
4. It is impossible to identify thyself with a man unless thou hast first descended beneath him, and only then can he be led upwards into the Light.
5. This is the work of the Christ, and is the greatest work of all.
God in the Flesh
6. Therefore camest the God of Heaven into the world, the Father of all, to become the Brother of all and the Friend of those who would receive Him.
7. I am far above thee, yet I am also beneath thee.
Aspire to Humility
8. Therefore let no man suppose that he is a great one on account of the Light and truth which he hath, for unless he can identify himself with the poor and the afflicted, descending to be as their brother and friend, he is nothing, and is puffed up in his pride.
9. Such a one cannot arise into the calling of a son of Christ because he is not willing to abase himself, nor suffer indignity, nor bear the sorrows of his fellow man.
The Way of the Cross is Suffering
10. Have I not told thee before that the Way of the Cross is the way of suffering? And apart from this there is no fullness of joy2.
11. He who is not willing to live with the lowest for My Name's sake, and do so with no thought of reward, glory, or exaltation (1 Pet.5:6), can never ascend into the highest reward, but must receive a lesser Kingdom3.
12. For as ye do these things ye bear witness that I, the Son of Man, descended to be man's Brother and Friend, that I might save them.
Little Works of Humility and Love
13. And by little works of humility and charity {agapé love} can great doors be opened in behalf of those who are lost and are seeking for Me.
The Mirror of a Man's Soul
14. It is given unto you, ye saints of the New Covenant, to be the mirrors of men's souls, that through your righteousness they may obtain a glimpse of the Kingdom and desire it in their hearts.
15. Therefore thou shalt be circumspect4 in all thou doest, becoming aware of all thy thoughts and actions, that thou mayest more fully reflect the nature of the Son of Man.
16. Consider all thy doings well, whether they be patterened after the Divine Life or after thine own desires or the desires of the world.
Slay the Dragon of Pride
17. Thou shalt slay the dragon of pride for he burneth up all that is good and virtuous when it cometh close unto him.
18. And when a greater Light cometh the dragon is manifest, and becometh angry5, breathing here and there that he might affrighten the Light.
No Fear in the Light
19. But verily, verily, I say unto thee: there is no fear in the Light, for the Light -- even My Light -- maketh a man free.
20. He who denieth these things is a liar and a hypocrite6, and must descend further into darkness, unhappiness and despair.
21. But he who receiveth these things shall be made eternally free7, knowing the joy of the Firstborn, and the peace and happiness thereof.
22. Therefore do not cut off the Light supposing that ye are preserving something more precious, for the Light is the greatest and most precious of all.
Call to the Lonely and Unhappy
23. Come unto Me all ye who are lonely and unhappy, and I shall give you rest. For I know you, having descended beneath you, that I might be your Brother and Friend. Even so. Amen.
