    Section 96

    To the Priesthood of the Church

    The following revelation was addressed to the Priesthood ministers of the Church who were not arising into their callings and were setting a bad example by quarrelling, teaching false doctrine, boasting of their callings, and refusing to yield to discipline. A prophecy indicating that the ministry would be cast off was fulfilled three years later in 1992 when the Church and its Priesthood was rejected and dissolved. For four years (1992-6) the Church functioned without regularly ordained ministers, relying on ministers sent directly from the Holy Order to govern the local Colonies (at that time called 'fellowships'). Not until 1996 did the inner anointing of the ministry begin to correspond to outward ordinations. The poverty of spiritual knowledge was great at this time and many years of education was required to teach even the basic principles of the Gospel. At this time there was no primary (Bible) or secondary (other revelations) scriptural canon and each year the saints gathered at Conference to discuss new revelations and whether to canonise them or not. Those who dissented refused to teach the revelations that had been canonised. Considerable disagreement resulted, and some even openly opposed them, which did not bode well for the Church. Members are expected to abide by the decisions made by General Conference or step down from their Priesthood office. This problem has largely been avoided in the modern Church by making the revelations sub-canonical, or secondary. There will always be those who come to the Church (the wild branches) who are not a part of it spiritually. The revelation was withheld to allow the saints free expression in General Conference, being published the following summer. All members should have a home. At this time the Presiding Patriarch was in full-time work, his family was abroad, and he was living in different members' homes [Oppsal, Oslo, Norway].

    1. Hearken unto the Lord your God whose hand is extended to bless those who are obedient;

    2. But if ye have heard Me, and cease to hear Me and have known Me, ye shallbe cut off, yea, and receive the heaviest of cursings for profaning My Name.

    Received Much, Absorbed Little

    3. Ye have received much but taken little into your hearts, and there are many who bear the Priesthood who babble nonsense and bear witness of empty wind, for they know not what they believe in.

    Teach Only What You Know

    4. If ye know not, then ye should be silent, for I have not called you {Priesthood ministers} to speak anything other than the truth, that ye might bring glory unto the Father.

    5. But if ye speak nonsense, knowing not what ye believe, then ye bring a shame and reproach upon your God, and undermine the faith of the weak who are turning unto you as spiritual fathers and mothers.

    Even the Milk Not Understood

    6. Ye have not even understood the milk, saith the Lord, yet ye clamour for more meat; and behold, it shall choke you unless ye repent.

    7. Therefore study My Word as I have commanded you and be obedient unto all that God speaketh unto you; and do so as little children, nothing doubting.

    8. And some of the children of the Covenant have more faith than those who are adults.

    A Prophecy

    9. Thus saith the Lord: unless ye repent and do all that I have told you, I shall begin to remove the Priesthood from you until ye have learned discipline; and through discipline, knowledge.

    No Anointed Elders or Deacons Yet

    10. For where is there an Elder or a Deacon in My Church? saith the Lord:

    11. Verily, not one, though from time to time ye manifest the inward Light of these offices, but not enough.

    The Outer to Equal the Inner

    12. The day is coming when the outer Priesthood offices shall be equal only to that which ye receive in My Temple, that none may suppose that they are great ones because of hands laid upon their heads.

    13. Zion shall yet be shaken to awaken her;

    14. I shall strip her of her dross, and her worldliness, and her slovenliness and her pride, that she might become meek and lowly.

    15. And all this for her salvation.

    General Conference and the Canon

    16. Assemble yourselves together in General Conference to agree upon My Word;

    17. And when ye are agreed, in conformity to the revelations, ye shall preach My Word and make no apology for it unto the children of men, for the Word of God is not be be trifled with.

    The Priesthood Ministry Must be Agreed

    18. They who will not agree shall be removed from their Priesthood for a season, for they should not have received a licence to preach that which they neither knew nor believed in.

    19. And ye shall not do these things unless it is absolutely required, that the Church might be preserved as one Body in faith and doctrine.

    20. And if ye do these things, ye shall do them in loving kindness in the manner which I have already spoken of.

    The Rebellious Must Pay the Price

    21. He who receiveth My commandments and is obedient unto them is My disciple;

    22. But he that receiveth them and doeth them not, the same cannot be My disciple1, and is not of the Body;

    23. Therefore he shall be cast out from the Priesthood.

    24. Verily, verily, I say unto you, that the blessings of the Father which belong unto the children of the Covenant should not be given unto the unworthy, lest a curse come upon your House and ye become like unto the children of the world.

    The Wild Branches

    25. The Lord of the Vineyard cometh with the blade to prune the wild branches who will not learn discipline.

    The Undisciplined Should Greatly Fear

    26. Ye should greatly fear for ye have not had the fear of the Lord, nor have ye lived pure doctrine, but have listed after your own imaginings.

    27. And thus ye shall not grow inwardly or outwardly for a season until yebehold your own poverty of Spirit on account of your own desires which were not My will, which became your gods.

    The Revelation Withheld

    28. These words thou shalt not record until I command thee, that the saints may behold these things.

    All Should Have Homes

    29. Let a house be provided for My servant, the Presiding Patriarch, that he may write and translate and gather together his family.

    30. And it is meet that all the saints should have homes in which to live, that they may consecrate them as Temples apart from the world. Amen.
