Inspired Translation (Midrash)
of Acts 2:32-36
The inspired amplified translation (Midrash) of Acts 2:32-36 (NIV) that follows was made to correct the false Jehovah's Witness doctrine that Jesus is not God but only "a god". What follows is a Hebrew "drash", the passage in question being interpretable in more than one way [Oppsal, Oslo, Norway]
1. (32) God [the Father] has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witness of the fact.
2. (33) Exalted to the right hand of God [the Father], He [Jesus] has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.
3. (34) For David did not ascend to heaven [in his day], and yet he said: "The Lord1 {Yahweh/Jesus} said tomy lord2 {David}: Sit at My {Jesus's} right hand,
4. (35) Until I make your {David's} enemies a footstool for your {David's} feet" (Ps.110:1; Mk.12:35-37).
5. (36) Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God [the Father] has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord121 {Yahweh} and Christ {Messiah}.
