Salt was anciently a part of Israelite worship and had to be applied to every grain offering as an indication of the b'rit or covenant (Lev.2:13) as well as being used to 'season' certain burnt offerings (Ezek.43:24). But did you know that if you eat a meal containing salt and sitting down with someone that you enter into a sacred, everalsting covenant with him (Num.18:19; 2 Chr.13:5)?
