LONG RANGE PLANS AND GOALS FOR THE CHENNAI INDIAN ORPHANAGES
To create a self-supporting operation catering for orphanages, a Technical Training Institute (to help the children to eventually stand on their own feet) providing education in Information Technology, printing, tailoring, electronics, etc., to be partly funded by students applying from outside and various local and central Government grant schemes under the Rural Development Program to give employment to educated youth and solve unemployments problems amongst the masses.
Memorandum of the Association of ICS
- (1) To work for economic, educational, cultural and social elevation of the weaker sections of society;
- (2) To foster a spirit of self-respect, self-reliance among the rural and urban poor by helping them to utilise their God-given natural talents;
- (3) To establish agricultural farms, raise crops, begetables, and fruits, to train agriculturalists in the adoption of appropriate technology -- open dairy, poultry farms, etc., to provide employmeny to urban and rural poor people;
- (4) To open a medical research centre, orphanages, primary schools, small scale industries, Health Centres, and to provide work in the various projects run by ICS for students;
- (5) To organise, establish, consolidate, carry out, maintain, support and develop uplifting activities aimed at the relief of the poor irrespective of race, religion, cast or creed;
- (6) To minister to drug addicts and AIDS patients, teaching them about the evil effects of such habits to youth and to make such projects self-sustaining within a five year period through the earnings of the Teachnical Institute projects.
