This highly-recommended and worthwhile article concludes that we are now in the year 5933, also known as 5770 in the Rabbinical calendar.

It might actually seem like we are far away from a hypothetical "year 6000" return of Yahushua - but remember that the time has been Cut Short, lest none be left alive;
meaning Our King could come (after a 3,5 year period of Antichrist's pretend kingship) anywhere within the next 66 or so years, assuming the time was cut by at least a year, which seems to be the most modest expectation.

This article also concludes that Avraham was born 1948 years after creation, a fact that is mirrored in that the modern state of Israel proclaimed independence in 1948 AD.

Unfortunately Yah'shua was not born in 0 AD/CE as almost everyone agrees, so the dates we use, including 1948, are entirely arbitrary and could be off by several years.

Yes - but the Roman calendar dates can still have symbolic significance, just as the Rabbinical can - the years and dates they show can still contain signs and wonders, just like non-Israelite people can also be used to holy purposes.
