I understand what he is saying and I agree in part. Even the scripture says that if we don't work, we don't eat, however it also says that we are to care for the orphans and the widows. I suppose the difference is that those two groups truly cannot care for themselves. It's not a matter of "won't" but can't.

That's why if I were an American I could be neither Democrat nor Republican (assuming they weren't corrupt, which we all know they are), or Conservative or Socialist, because both have the right idea up to a point. I am a socialist when it comes to helping those who can't help themselves but a conservative when it comes to kicking the rear ends of the lazy and making them work - so I guess I am a right-wing socialist and left-wing conservative. The political system does not, alas work, because it either gets abused or abuses one way or another. Politics can never motivate the heart but is all about 'rights' instead of responsibilities. So I agree.
