The Venus Conjunction
What the Scriptures Tell Us About It
Today Venus, the second planet out from the sun after Mercury, crosses the sun between us. This conjunction is also the closest point between us and the planet. As you will see when you plot these conjunctions out, a series of 5-pointed stars or pentacles are formed as shown in the diagram below:
I find this rather interesting, as have others of a superstitious mindset who will perhaps see occultic interpretations in the symbol of the pentagram because they either worship the planet or that which the planet represents to the pagan mindset. Since Yahweh is the Creator of our Solar System and is the One who has positioned the planets in their orbits, quite obviously these conjunctions are not portents of evil even if others view them as such and open themselves up to all kinds of dark spiritual nonsense. Is there, from a biblical perspective, a symbolic or literal importance in these cosmic conjunctions?
Definitely. Yahweh's universe is highly ordered and to understand the significance of these periods of time we must look to biblical numbers.
The planet Venus, which we should probably simply call the Second or Shanee Planet (to avoid the paganism of the Hellenised names of our planets so that we do not honour demons), corresponds to a number (2) that symbolises division in Scripture. It also corresponds to the annual festival known as Chag haMatzah or Festival of Unleavened Bread which represents the removal of sin from our lives, that is, the purposeful division, as an exercise of human will and choice, of light from darkness, of emet (truth) from lies, and of spirit from flesh.
Our planet, Earth, is the Third or Shleshi Planet and corresponds to a number (3) that represents divine perfection, being the number of the Elohimhead (Godhead). It's destiny, in the future after the purging at the end of the Millennium, is to be the Throne of Yahweh Himself, the spiritual centre of the entire Universe and Creation. It corresponds to the third annual festival of Yom haBikkurum or the Day of Firstfruits which symbolises the resurrection of Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) and the new birth of the surrendered, trusting talmid (disciple) in this Resurrected Messiah.
So why do these regular conjunctions form pentacles as we have seen above? And is there any symbolic significance? Without a doubt. The number 5 symbolises a new beginning as a result of grace or the undeserved loving kindness of Yahweh, His unmerited favour toward us in delivering us from sin, evil and death.
For the astronomically minded amongst Yahweh's watchers each conjunction is a reminder of this grace of the Creator toward us for those who trust in His Son and who are prepared to overcome the sinful nature by being willing to undergo an inner separation of that which is pure from that which is not. By using the map of Divine Tavnith or Pattern as revealed in Yahweh's Davar (Word) we can actually see the fingerprint of the Creator at every level of His creation, from the macroscopic to the microscopic. So I hope this will encourage you to look away from the superstitions of the unregenerated occultists and toward the pure emet (truth) of Scripture. Today is not one of the set-apart moedim or appointments of Yahweh but an echo of it, a reminder of His wondrous provision and a testimony that He truly lives. It is to remind us that there are appointed times for every man and woman to work out their salvation by getting sin out of their lives through emunah (faith) by allowing Yahweh to effect a division within, so that we can see the light apart from the darkness, and so make a choice one way or the other. And then, by grace, once we have chosen the right, He will step in and cleanse us, by carrying out a spiritual operation through the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) that we are totally incapable of doing ourselves by means of our own puny efforts.
So I hope as Yahweh works in you that you will appropriately respond and move on in your sanctification. Have a blessed conjunction!
