The Demonic Sandwich
Exposing a Common Enemy Technique
Have you ever been in the situation where you were with someone, knew something was wrong with them in your ruach (spirit) but had been totally frustrated by your inability to explain what the problem was in words?
This is without doubt one of the most frustrating things a believer can experience, one who wants to reach out and help, unless of course his reason for wanting to know is to attack and shame the one with the problem.
Handling problems - whether our own or someone else's - is one of the toughest assignments for a talmid (disciple). I remember when I first went into deliverance ministry feeling completely out of my depth. I went in with my eyes open, walked in emunah (faith), made mistakes in emunah (faith) and learned in emunah (faith). And one of the things I learned a lot about was how the enemy operates.
One of the most important lessons I learned from deliverance ministry is that the enemy never gets us to believe in only one lie. For near complete control, Satan installs two completely and apparently opposite lies into your thinking (which, of course, you have allowed by believing him) so that when you expose one you automatically track to its counterpart. By the time you are in the counterpart you have forgotten the first lie, so that by the time you have exposed the counterpart you are already tracking back to the oirginal lie that you had before exposed but now forgotten. And so the cycle repeats again and again.
If you have ever wondered why people return to old sins, this might be the reason. They have simply traded one lie (or a whole set of them) for another (whole set).
A classic case of this double lie is the very effective Hecate-Lilith combination, a pair of nasty demonesses (particularly active in our day and age) that get you to 'take sides' and absorb yourself in a no-win good cop/bad cop battle. White vs. Black Magic is a classic example. It doesn't matter which one you view as the 'good cop' because the result is the same - internal civil war which masquerades as an actual outside war between people operating in one or the other lie. People with the demon diametrically opposite to the one ruling you drive you crazy and provoke you to loathing, and vice versa. Only somewhere, deep down in your unconscious, there is a recognition and a familiarity with your opposite number's 'bad-cop' behaviour. It's turf you have walked yourself but have forgotten.
The only trouble with such a system (from Satan's point-of-view) is that there is an Achillee's Heel in it - a point of vulnerability. Emet (Truth), unlike Lies, is a singular, integrated cluster of 'truthlets' that are completely interconnected and echad (one). But there is no echad or unity in lies by their very nature. Holding them together is a bit like trying to compress a cluster of magnets with only a negative pole - they vigorously repell one another. So the only way to juxtapose them in someone's mind is to separate them - put them far apart - leaving a lot of space inbetween them. And the trouble with that, as far as the enemy is concerned, in moving between one big lie and another the victim has to pass through Emet (Truth) which Yahweh placed in our system at birth to be our moral compass until accepting the New Birth - the Light of Messiah (Jn.1:9). Accordingly, at that critical moment a great deal of effort is expended by the demonic to pass by or through this Emet (Truth) Moment as quickly as possible, since it at such critical moments that victims can make important choices to end the demonic manipulation and be delivered.
It's a bit like a sandwich, with the two demonic lies (the pieces of bread) and the emet (truth) (the meat inbetween). Both demonic lies have to be broken and the only way to do that is to see the emet (truth) of the demonic system and how it controls. (For an example blueprint of how Lilith works and connects to Hecate, see Chart Showing Lilith's Attributes). In effect, this means rising above the whole theatre and turning your spiritual eyes to the emet (truth) above.
In reality, it is a little more complex than this because each 'lAfter a while you can ie' is, in fact, a system of graded lies. Once into the system, the victim starts believing one lie after the other that progressively layer themselves until the mind is submerged into more and more darkness. Since a lie, to be believable, must have an element of emet (truth) in it, each successive lie must have more and more of that emet (truth) component removed. Typically, the soul in rebellion will always find justification in clinging onto the lie by virtue of the emet (truth) component in the mix.
Only as the emet (truth) element gets progressively eluted out will the soul begin to sense something is very wrong and begin reacting by moving away from the lie and heading back towards Pure Emet (Truth). Knowing that this process is underway, the enemy will attempt to guide the soul into the second lie cluster as quickly as possible since the first one has already been compromised.
After a while you get to understand how the enemy works and don't fall into his traps. Those 'Emet (Truth) Moments' become very precious indeed and you learn to be alert to them, cling onto them, and declare: "I choose this, Father Yahweh, and reject everything that contradicts it!" The more you do this, the more readily the lies are exposed and fall away along with the numbness- and forgetfulness-causing demons.
So remember the humble sandwich the next time the enemy tugs at your soul and make sure that you remain in Emet (Truth) as you pass through it, by asking the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) to take the reins when Satan is on the move!
