The Heavenly Landscaper
Making the Ultimate Choice
Continued from Part 4
How is it possible for the Heavenly Landscaper to eject supernatural entities like demons from our minds, feelings and flesh? Yesterday we looked at the simplicity of the deliverance process - today I want to look at its power.
There is no doubt that in true deliverance there is a contest of powers. But contrary to the myths spawned in Hollywood and in the Catholic Church and its offshoots, biblical deliverance isn't exactly 'exorcism'. There are, really, only three elements involved:
By 'cross' I do not mean the torture stake on which Messiah was put to death but to the power of the resurrection that was released by the death of the Son of Elohim (God) nailed to that tree at Calvary:
- 1. Emet (Truth) - as defined by Torah (Scripture) and the Ruach (Spirit);
- 2. Choice - a simple yes or no to what Yahweh offers;
- 3. Emunah (Faith) in the Cross of Messiah.
Obviously if you are not saved - that is, if you have not given your life to Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) for ever (and not just on a trial basis) - then deliverance cannot work permanently. An anointed minister may be able to cast your demons out by force but the relief will only be temporary, because:
"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of Elohim (God)" (1 Cor.1:18, NKJV).
Those who refuse or reject Messiah typically go to psychiatrists for help, and these days their solution to both real and imaginary 'mental illness' is to put you on useless psychotropic drugs which invariably worsen your condition and create physical health problems too. Those who bother to talk to you - psychologists - can do some limited good but the bottom line is:
- 1. Unless you are clinging to - advering to - Yah'shua (Jesus) for your very life, the power of the cross won't be available to you once the minister has left you; and
- 2. Unless you have seen the lies from the vantage point of being IN Messiah, you will remain blind to them and the Enemy will continue to deceive you and walk in through every lie-generated open door in your soul.
The foundation of all deliverance and its effectiveness is the cosmic emet (truth) that Yah'shua (Jesus) not only defeated Satan at the Cross but made a public display of his helplessness before Him too. Without Messiah, Satan is a formidable - and ultimately irresistable - foe, but with Messiah, Satan is absolutely nothing. Satan's highly limited power must always be seen within the context of Yah'shua's (Jesus'). Those who are genuinely submitted to Messiah have a power that the Enemy can not resist. Those who are not genuinely submitted do not. And when the latter try to either do or receive deliverance, all that happens is that the dark powers that they are doing combat with, turn back and overwhelm them.
- 1. They cannot deal with the issue of sin - only the Cross can; and
- 2. They adjust you to whatever is considered 'normal' by contemporary society, which from Yahweh's point-of-view, is pathological anyway.
Someone who is truly born again and trusting in Messiah, even if they are still working out issues, possesses the authority to dismiss Satan, and receives the 100% backing-up of Heaven. No complex deliverance is required. And remember also that the understanding of how this works only comes after deliverance. Before then the believer must operate by emunah (faith).
Psychiatry, which is a replacement for the Gospel in once Christian lands, is basically salvation by gnosis or self-knowledge. It does not recognise Torah-Emet (Truth) or the matrix which is the remoulded spirit of man caused by the indwelling of the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit). Psychiatry, in its totality, is a false 'science'. Only the Messiah-controlled spirit can rewire the brain correctly, something no human-being is capable of doing, because it is a supernatural activity.
It must be remembered, in conclusion, that Satan is a landscaper too, only his 'landscaping' does not lead to wholeness. Rather, he subdues and subverts parts of the mind, sealing them off from the rest of the self, so that the self has little or no idea what's going on. He's a virus, using the mind to his own ends, a parasitic and ultimately lethal pathogen. He is not just busy on the inside, but on the outside too, conditioning us to think in false ways in the media and in education. Undoing a lifetime of conditioning, with the myriads of lies upon lies, can and does take time. Most deliverance is a process that goes on all our lives until we are thinking as Yahweh thinks, and feeling as He feels.
The truth sets you free and the beauty of it is that it cannnot imposed - it is there for everyone to discover naturally for him- or herself. It is built into the fabric of the visible and invisible universe. A true education is therefore a prized possession and the greatest gift anyone could receive.
Having given my life to the Master since 1977 I can truthfully say that He delivers what He promises. People ask me sometimes how it is I seem to know things that other ministers do not. The answer is simple: I have a hunger for emet (truth), I have seen how the emet (truth) delivers people from bondage. Wanting to be in full control is the biggest negative impulse from the flesh and the greatest impediment to salvation and deliverance. The reality is we don't have control, however much we try to delude ourselves into believing we do. We have free choice but the choice is either to come under Yahweh's benevolent control or Satan's destrustive control.
A few days ago I had a dream. I was at a meeting of believers, none of whom I had seen before. The surroundings were very simple, nothing fancy, people were seated around very plain tables in a large auditorium. I was (interestingly) talking to a man from the island of Sylt in Schleswig-Holstein, in German Frisia, who was a leader at the conference. He asked me if there was any great question that I had remaining. I paused and thought for a moment, and answered: "There isn't any free agency ultimately, is there?" He smiled and we understood one another.
What did I mean? Quite simply - when you have chosen reality (which is Yahweh), there is nothing else to choose and nothing else one would want to choose. Our 'choice' is between reality and fantasy. And since fantasy has no objective reality, there is ultimately no 'choice' at all.
Comments from Readers
"Some important truths! We so much need Elohim's grace to see Emet and to choose and turn to Him (and to find true freedom in Him). With where you mentioned that no one who isn't really saved by Yah'shua can receive deliverance (and only perhaps receive something that may 'temporarily' seem to help), another thing to remember is Yah'shua's warning about those who may have a demon go out of them, but Elohim has not taken up residence and ownership inside instead: “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation” (Matthew 12:43-45)" (DP, South Africa, 23 September 2011)
