Standing Firm
The Establishment of Yah's Seed
A few weeks ago we made the decision in our family and ministry to officially begin observing the biblical Creation or Lunar-Solar Calendar at the beginning of this New Year and it is already proving to be quite an adventure. Re-setting your biological clocks takes a bit of getting used to and yesterday, when we would previously have observed the Saturday 'Sabbath', has felt a little strange...just as it did in 1999 when we switched from Sunday to Saturday worship. But then that is true of all changes of lifestyle.
As I was sitting preparing yesterday's devotional about end-time events and the sovereignty of Messiah, I was talking to Yahweh about this switchover. Apart from the disruption to my internal time-keeping, everything seemed to be much as it always was. The previous night of dreams was much like the ones before it and so I was naturally anticipating what things would be like once we had got into the regular rhythm. One thing I had noticed was how Yahweh has been opening all kinds of new truth, previously hidden because of our late wrong observance, which has been really exciting. Isn't it wonderful when more and more things neatly fit together, things you couldn't make sense of before because you were viewing them in the wrong way? Anyway, as I was quietly praying as I worked, I kept on getting the same message back again and again - "If you walk in tavnith, everything will become clear".
Simultaneously, I have to remind everything that this is the month of Red April and that this is not only season for satan's round of Spring offences but Yahweh's too, and to be exact, His continuing Victory March.
According to the Venerable Bede in his work, De temporum ratione, April has its root in the word Easter (which is on 24 April this year) that was named after the pagan goddess Eostre, whose day of celebration was replaced by the Festival of Passover by the Catholic Church though with the old name retained along with some old pagan traditions. And just as at Yom haBikkurim we celebrate the resurrection of Messiah (Jesus), so at the original Easter the pagans celebrated the resurrection of Tammuz, the son of the moon-goddess and sun-god. This April, then, like all others, we must make a choice: to celebrate a demon (Tammuz) in Christian garb or the True Messiah Yah'shua (Christ Jesus) at the Feast of Firstfruits (Yom haBikkurim). Whatever we celebrate establishes the toqef or authority over us for this new sacred year. Yah'shua (Jesus) saves but Eostre enslaves.
The pagan month of April is therefore is an important one for choices - do we follow the Eostre of the Roman calendar and system or the biblical Yahweh-Elohim of the Divine Calendar and its tavnith? One thing is absolutely certain: only Yahweh-Elohim through Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) can deliver us! And this is the Season of Deliverance!
In less that a week's time we will be sitting around the Pesach Table to celebrate the deliverance of an enslaved people, Israel, from the tyranny of Pharaoh and the deliverance of enslaved people today from the power of sin through Messiah (Christ). But this is, in reality, more than just a couple of memorials, for the season is about continuing deliverance in our walk with Yah'shua (Jesus).
The needs of most are great. We all have great needs if we are honest about it. Life can sometimes look very precarious when we view it apart from Yahweh and even when we cling to Him through Yah'shua (Jesus) the challenges are not over. Speaking of those who will resolutely trust in Messiah, Yahweh says through King David:
"My mercy I will keep for him forever, and My covenant shall stand firm with him. His seed also I will make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven" (Ps.89:28-29, NKJV).
Abide by your covenants in Yah'shua (Jesus) just as Yahweh abides by His Covenant to His Son forever no matter how dark the corridors of mortality may at times seem, for we are His seed if we remain true. As Red April heats up, so too will our need for true faith. All the false authorities we have trusted in will be shaken and we will have to make year-abiding choices. Join me tomorrow for the first sabbath of the year! Meantime, stand firm and watch those rocks of opposition split!
