20 March 2011 (Rishon/Pesach)
Day #369, 5934 AM
Understanding Tavnith
Bend the Knee and Confess the Name!

    Continued from Part 1

"Therefore Elohim (God) also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Yah'shua (Jesus) every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) is Master (Lord), to the glory of Elohim (God) the Father (Yahweh)" (Phil.2:9-11, NKJV).

Today I am fulfilling a commission Yahweh gave me a while back to teach the world about true tavnith. The word tavnith is a Hebrew word meaning 'pattern'. The whole universe was made by the Creator according to a divine tavnith, a pattern, grid, system or blueprint. This tavnith repeats itself from the physical all the way up to the spiritual. In spirit, mind, heart, psyche and physicality this tavnith is to be found. It is in the very structure of atoms and molecules, in cells and organs, in the way the lev (heart) of man was constructed, in the brain, in Yahweh's sacred Torah or Law - it is in everything.

Satan has a counterfeit tavnith - actually, many. Try to imagine the perfect electronic circuit in which electricy flows in its perfect order to achieve the desired end and you have a picture of tavnith. Satan comes along with a false tavnith blueprint and when allowed to by humans when they sin, starts rewiring our thinking, feeling and behaviour generally so that we are out of harmony both with the Creator, with each other and within. Some parts of the circuit are bypassed altogether so that the one rewired is totally ignorant of various functions designed into the circuit and lack the experiences that the circuit in its perfect order would give Him showing Him the tavnith and ahavah (love) of the Creator.

In our passage today we are reading about Yahweh's 'bottom line' and that is where we are going to start today. In this Scripture we read of Yahweh's minimal and absolute demand of all creatures, whether malakim (angels) in heaven, human beings on earth (good and evil), and shaddim (demons) in hell under the earth. It doesn't matter who you are - supernatural or mortal, good or evil, saved or unsaved, full of ahavah (love) or full of hate - Yahweh's unreleting demand of all creation (and that includes animals, plants and other life forms), is that all living things literally and/or metaphorically bend the knee of submission and confess that Yah'shua (Jesus) is Master. Until this core demand of Elohim (God) is understood, the Personhood of Elohim (God) will not be understood either. He will remain unknown and unknowable. Until it is met, He will not meet with us. He demands unconditional surrender, whether your lev (heart) is right or wrong, and He expects it from you and me by our bending the knee and bowing (worshipping) and confessing that He is Sovereign Master. Whether your heart is singing His praises or raging in fury against Him, He expects this act of submission continually, and He will accept nothing less. This is Ultimate Male Principle and Ultimate Toqef (Authority).

Notice that there is no demand for, or expectation, ahavah (love) until the requirement to surrender has first been made. That ought to be self-evident since clearly neither Satan nor the demons love Yahweh - they hate Him! And yet Yahweh expects them to bow and confess His Toqef (Authority) over them and this they do at the end of the dispensation because they are compelled to. Why? Because of His holiness.

Let us be under no illusions here. Submission to Yahweh's authority is is demanded whether you love Him or not because of His holiness. Until the end of the dispensation all - mortals and angels - have the choice whether or not to - but at the end of it, there is no further choice. There will be no debate about this, no arguing, no protesting, and no resistance, anymore than we can get angry with the sun and demand that it receed from us. A small cluster of molecules called a man cannot demand a vast ball of fire to do anything! Neither can we demand anything of the Most High.

So whom does Yahweh expect to love Him? Of whom does He make the demand for ahavah (love)? Those who willingly choose to submit to Him of their own free will! Once the choice to submit has been made - freely and without compulsion - then the demand for ahavah (love) - which has always been 'there' but is awaiting the overt act of surrender - is made openly:

"You shall love the Yahweh your Elohim (God) with all your lev (heart), with all your soul, and with all your strength" (Deut.6:5, NKJV).

If you are really making a choice to submit to Him, and not just mouthing some empty words, then this is what He demands! All your love with all your being and strength. And until you are willing to do this, how can you possibly fulfil the rest of His demand?

"And these words which I command you today shall be in your lev (heart). You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates" (Deut.6:6-9, NKJV). NKJV

How can we possibly adore the Torah in the way that Yahweh demands until we are fully and completely submitted to Him and accept His absolute Toqef (Authority)? Impossible! Because if we love Him we will love His Torah and therefore His tavnith (pattern) and therefore His Being! If the feelings of the lev (heart) do not match the outer actions that Yahweh says follow one who loves Him with all their being and strength, then in truth they are not loving Him with their being and strength, nor are they fully submitted to His Toqef (Authority). Their hearts are deceiving them. If sin is lawlessness then lawlessness is sin too!

"Whoever commits sin also commits Torahlessness (lawlessnes), and sin is Torahlessness (lawlessness)" (1 John 3:4, NKJV).

Satan rages against these things. He hates them. He loathes them. He has sworn to destroy them. Why? Because in the pride of his corrupted lev (heart) he wants all toqef (authority), all ahavah (love), all loyalty, all obedience - everything. This what He demands. It is why he sought to get it from Yah'shua (Jesus) during the wilderness temptations even though he had no right to it whatsoever:

"Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, 'All these things I will give You if You will fall down (bend the knee) and worship me (confessing I am Your master).' Then Yah'shua (Jesus) said to him, 'Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship Yahweh your Elohim (God), and Him only you shall serve.'' Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him" (Matt.4:8-11, NKJV).

Satan demanded of Yah'shua (Jesus) what Yahweh demanded of Him and which He refused. This refusal to bow the knee in spirit, mind, heart and body, and submit to His toqef (authority) constitutes REBELLION against Yahweh. Notice that the toqef that Yahweh expects all creatures to submit to is DELEGATED TOQEF. This is toqef delegated by the Father (who has Absolute Authority) to the Son. Therefore the Son has the same right to demand this submission, obedience and worship. And now here is the next 'crunch' - the same response is expected of us in submitting to all delegated toqef (authority) in all spheres of life within the boundaries that Yahweh has set and established.

Yahweh has given authority to the state to tax us. It may do so unrighteously but we are still under obligation to pay those taxes. In return the state is supposed to protect us. Yahweh has given governments toqef (authority) to do this. We are to bow the knee and accept that the state is master over us in this respect and are only to refuse such obedience if they demand that we break Yahweh's Torah (Law). In that situation, a higher toqef (authority) takes over. All toqef (authority) has boundaries established by the Creator. "I do not bow down and submit to and worship the state in the matter of taxation!" someone might protest. Of course you do! You submit by paying your taxes and if you don't then you end up in prison like Kent Hovind did. Are you committing idolatry in bending the knee to the state? How can you be when Yahweh has commanded it because you are submitting to Yahweh's toqef (authority) ultimately and bowing the knee to Him in worship! And if you believe that refusing to pay taxes is the only way you can avoid committing idolatry, then you need to join Kent Hovind in prison for that is where you will go and Yahweh will not help you because you defied His authority. The state has every right to demand our taxes (give unto Ceasar what is Caesar's) whether it is good or evil and in yielding to that toqef (authority) we are not yielding to their good or their evil but to Yahweh's command. This is true tavnith (pattern).

Did you know that Yahweh has given similar delegations of toqef (authority) in the churches and messianic assemblies? If you choose to come under the toqef (authority) and covering of a congregation's leadership, then you are obliged to submit to its bylaws and to its Pastor or Presiding Elder. You are to bow the knee in those areas of toqef that Yahweh has given to the authorities in that congregation. You (the head of the household) are to bow the knee to the pastor (see The Pastoral Office: A Guide to Pastoral Leadership). Why are we to do that? Because of the toqef (authority) that Yahweh has given the Pastor (or Rabbi). Yahweh has given him that office and you are to honour and respect him because of the office. There are boundaries, of course, for no pastor can command you to break Torah and no pastor has the right to interfere in a man's family...with his wife and children. If a man does not agree with the Pastor and cannot submit to him, then he should leave the congregation with the same freedom that he entered it, though if it was Yahweh who led him to that congregation (as it should have been) then he needs to be equally sure that it is Yahweh commanding him to leave that congregation. He will be accountable for that decision because all toqef (authority) is accompanied by accountability.

The Messianic Community and the Family have been designed by Yahweh to follow a divine tavnith or pattern. This tavnith is revealed in detail in the design of the tabernacle or temple making our understanding of its dimensions and functions of vital importance:

"According to all that I show you, that is, the tavnith (pattern) of the tabernacle and the tavnith (pattern) of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it" (Ex.25:9, NKJV).

Our physical body or fleshy "tabernacle" is designed in exactly the same way along with all its "furnishings" or component parts. So also is the spirit, mind and heart of man. Everything follows this divine tavnith (pattern). This was not just some random design pulled out of a hat, neither did it 'evolve' culturally - these things were not borrowed from other religions or nations. Yahweh is most emphatic about this:

"See to it that you make them according to the tavnith (pattern) which was shown you on the mountain" (Ex.25:40, NKJV; also see Ex.26:30; Ac.7:44; Heb.8:5).

Every single item in the tabernacle had to be made precisely according to the blueprint given by Yahweh to Moses, including the menorah or lampstand:

"Now this workmanship of the lampstand was hammered gold; from its shaft to its flowers it was hammered work. According to the pattern which Yahweh had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand" (Num.8:4, NKJV).

Each tabernacle item is the object of a devotional in and of itself and is beyond the scopw of what I have been given to share with you today. I simply want you to go tavnith-hunting and discover what Yahweh has in mind for your life and that of your family and congregation! Nothing is random or accidental, down to the least floral carving on the menorah. You will find this divine insistence on tavnith a recurring theme in Scripture:

"Son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the tavnith (pattern). And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the design of the temple and its arrangement, its exits and its entrances, its entire design and all its ordinances, all its forms and all its laws. Write it down in their sight, so that they may keep its whole design and all its ordinances, and perform them" (Ezek.43:10-11, NKJV).

The fact that Yah'shua (Jesus) has fulfilled the ceremonial law of sacrifices and the whole Old Covenant temple system does not mean that the tavnith (pattern) has changed. The Creator still uses the same design in everything. There is a tavnith (pattern) of living for New Covenant believers and it is exactly the same when it comes to the orginal tavnith (pattern) of being:

"Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a tavnith (pattern)" (Phil.3:17, NKJV).

"However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) might show all longsuffering, as a tavnith (pattern) to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life" (1 Tim.1:16, NKJV).

"Hold fast the tavnith (pattern) of sound words which you have heard from me, in emunah (faith) and ahavah (love) which are in Messiah Yah'shua (Christ Jesus). That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) who dwells in us" (2 Tim 1:13-14, NKJV).

"But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behaviour, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things -- that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of Elohim (God) may not be blasphemed. Likewise exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a tavnith (pattern) of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you. Exhort bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back, not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of Elohim (God) our Deliverer (Saviour) in all things" (Titus 2:1-10, NKJV).

So we see that the same tavnith continues in the Messianic Community of the first talmidim (disciples), the same Torah tavnith (pattern) as you would expect of a tavnith (pattern) that is in all Creation. Once we walk in true tavnith, the Ruach (Spirit) flows! And the more submitted we are, the more powerfully the Ruach flows!

In every single male Yahweh has placed toqef and every single male - whether righteous or evil - expects the same submission to that toqef (authority) that Yahweh expects of us. It is delegated and implanted toqef and therefore still His toqef. That is why Satan demanded worship of Yah'shua (Jesus) because Yahweh originally gave him toqef over all other malakim (angels). After the Elohimhead (Godhead) of Father, Son and Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit), Satan was the #2 toqef (authority) in Creation. He was like Joseph to Pharoah only this was not a 'messianic' Joseph but a demonic one. Satan simply demands respect for the toqef (authority) that Yahweh gave him even though he has since fallen. Understand this one principle and it will open many, many doors of understanding: the demand that men expect for submission and respect from their wives and children was placed in them by the Creator. So long as men are men they will always demand it, not because it is something unnatural or mysogenic or bad but because Yahweh put it there. And they will no more relent in that demand for it from those under their taqef (authority) than Yahweh will from all of us. It is as simple as that. That is why men want to be respected more than they want to be loved. Shaunti Feldhahn writes:

"I was on a retreat with a bunch of singles, and the theme of the retreat was relationships, which as you can imagine was of great interest to a bunch of singles. The retreat speaker looked at this group of seventy people in this room, and he divided us in half.

"He put the men on one side and the women on the other side of the room. He said, "I'm going to ask you a question. I'm going to ask you to choose between these two bad feelings. If you had to choose, would you rather feel alone and unloved in the world or would you rather feel inadequate and disrespected?"

"He turned to the men and he said, "Okay men, who here would rather feel alone and unloved?" And every man raised his hand. You heard a giant gasp from the women's side of the room. The men would rather feel alone and unloved than . . . than to feel inadequate or disrespected.

"For women we most want to feel loved and cherished. This was like foreign land to us. We had no idea how they could choose this. He turned to the women's side of the room and he said, "Okay women, who here would rather feel alone and unloved?" I think only three or four women raised their hand, and you heard the giant gasp from the men's side of the room. He said, "Okay women, who here would rather feel inadequate and disrespected?" Almost every woman raised her hand.

"The highest need for men is to feel his wife's respect and trust and admiration and honour. So we can go, as women, overboard trying to show we love them, but if we don't also show that we respect them and maybe we criticize them in public or question their decisions all the time, they're going to feel disrespected and won't feel loved".

Satan loathes true tavnith (pattern) and so do those who hate Elohim (God). The only men who will not demand this submission are those who have been emasculated - men who have surrendered their masculinity because of the demands of feminism and political correctness made on them by man-made social theories. These are not real men at all - they are shadows of their real selves and they need to reclaim their masculinity, because that is how Yahweh created them to be. He created them to be like Him (the Father) and women to be like the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit or the Mother).

Now, of course, I understand and sympathise with one of the drives of feminism and it is the fear of unrighteous men who imitate Satan who is out of tavnith (pattern). These men want to rule as tyrants without the boundaries and limitations that Yahweh has imposed on them in Torah. You can't blame women for reacting against such evil but neither should any of us accept that neutering men spiritually, mentally, emotionally, psychologically and in their overall behaviour is godly because this is simply to reject divine tavnith (pattern) and ultimately to reject Yahweh Himself. This spirit that seeks to neuter or feminise men is the spirit of Hecate and Lilith which are very powerful demonic powers operating in the world today. In truth, Satan is out to neuter both genders - male and female - because he hates divine tavnith (pattern) so much. (See The Y and X of Creation: Biblical Truth About Gender Rôles).

At the sound of His Name every man should - with simcha (joy) in his lev (heart) - bend his knee and confess that Yah'shua (Jesus) is his Master (Lord). This is a true man surrendered to Yahweh. Likewise a true wife should bend her knee and confess that her husband is her master (lord) just as Sarah did of Abraham:

"For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in Elohim (God) also adorned themselves, being submissive (bending the knee) to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him master (lord), whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror" (1 Peter 3:5-6, NKJV).

Both in the churches and messianic assemblies, as well as in society in general, we have become far removed from this divine tavnith (pattern) and unless we recover it quickly we will not be in alignment with Yahweh's lev (heart) and be totally unprepared for what is coming to the world. No true man in Yah'shua (Jesus) will ever relinquish this demand that the Creator has placed in him even if he is hated for it and no true woman will resist it but seek the true tavnith (pattern) and both withh find simcha in it. Yielded men and women cannot but do otherwise. Unyielded men and women will either seek spiritual castration or tyrannical domination, or unkosher rulership, respectively.

A word about employers to finish. When we contract ourselves out to them by accepting a job, we bend our knee to their authority within the sphere of the work we have chosen. In work hours they are our masters (or mistresses) and we must surrender to their wishes - again, within the accepted borders. If we rebel we must expect to be fired. We take this for granted and yield to it simply because we want our daily bread! If we yield to our employers and taxman so readily, why is it that we sometimes have such problems yielding to Yahweh, pastors, husbands and fathers? It is because, sadly, we pursue mammon (money) ahead of Emet (Truth) and because we fear the power of the state to fine or imprison us more than we do what Yahweh will do if we rebel against Him! This is the idolatry of man - we readily accept the tavnith of man but not the tavnith of Yahweh.

"You shall love the Yahweh your Elohim (God) with all your lev (heart), with all your soul, and with all your strength" (Deut.6:5, NKJV).

These are not the rantings of some unredeemed angelic Old Testament 'Demiurge' whom the Messiah has supposedly deposed to establish true love, as Gnostics would have us believe, or the dark reflections of the psyche of primitive man. This is the Creator-Elohim speaking to we who are made in His image, and who will demand an account from us for our choices to obey or rebel against Him. You can, of course, believe whatever 'image' of God that you want but if it isn't the true One then you will be out tavnith and walking a false way. So who will you be? Will you bow the knee willingly and out of ahavah (love) or, as Paul Washer puts it, will you bow the knee because He who rules the nations - Yah'shua (Jesus) - metaphorically breaks your kneecaps with an iron rod (Ps.2:9; Rev.2:27; 12:15; 19:15)?

As always, the choice is yours.
