The Blood That Covers
How to Appropriate It in the Messiah
"And when you sin by mistake and do not do all these commands which Yahweh has spoken...all the congregation shall prepare one young bull as a burnt offering..." (Num.15:24; also 21-25, ISRV).
It often comes as a shock to many to learn that the blood of animals under the Old Covenant only atoned for sins committed in ignorance:
"But only the High Priest (Cohen Gadol) entered the inner room (Holy of Holies), and hthat only once a year (at Yom Kippur), and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance" (Heb.9:7, ISRV).
What this means is that no-one was forgiven of deliberate (willful) sin until Messiah came!
It is not enough that Yah'shua shed His blood: it still has to be applied to the doorposts of our hearts as the Israelites in Egypt did to their homes - that is the door through which we invite Yah'shua in (Rev.3:20). The meal He partakes of with us is the Last Supper. This blood brings with it the presence, manifestation and revelation of Yahweh. It has different values too:
Christ's (most valuable) > Human (valuable) > Animal (less valuable)
The blood of Yah'shua contains all of the Life (chayyim) of Yahweh - Eternal Life. By drinking the wine (blood) in the Lord's Supper (Jn.6:53-56) we appropriate everything Yah'shua's blood represents. It represents His life force. All the power against Satan resides in the blood. It is the door through which we become reunited with Yahweh. It is where we merge with the Ruach Elohim. The blood brings every desire of self-safisfaction to death. It leads to self-denial as it did with Yah'shua.
At Passover, the Hebrews had to remain in their homes where the blood had been placed on the doorposts. They had to remain connected to it, as we must remain connected to Yah'shua: "This cup the the New Covenant IN My blood" (Jn.15:5), ISRV), Yah'shua said, not 'of' it. You do not enter into the blood (life) of Yah'shua by just mentioning that someone is 'covered' with the blood while he is actually squandering his life in darkness. The blood receives its authentic power and has effect when we come in true repentance to the Cross and remain there, because the Cross is the only place the blood of Yah'shua was poured out for us. 1 John 1:5-7 says clearly that we must "walk in the light" and "the blood of Yah'shua" to be purified from all sin.
Yahweh hates sin because it isolates us from Him. And it is the blood of the Covenant that brought Yah'shua back from the dead (Heb.13:20). Devils cannot resist those who proclaim the blood if they are anointed by the Ruach haQodesh. All demons were present at the Cross along with Satan: they know they are defeated if ... we appropriate the blood correctly (Col.2:13-15). Demons must always be reminded of that defeat. Every time we mention the blood of Yah'shua, Yahweh is glorified, Yah'shua is exalted and the power of the Ruach is released. To enter into the blood of the New Covenant is to enter into the torrential outburst of the very life of Yahweh which scatters all darkness. If we enter into that blood, we can never be overcome.
