As an Englishman I am naturally rather fond of my country even though I have lived in many cities around the world from Kuala Lumpur to Oslo and have come to view myself as a bit of an internationalist. Since becoming a Christian in 1977 my persepective on nationalism has changed somewhat and I try to view all nations through the lens of Scripture and therefore through the eye of the Creator.

London began as a Roman creation (Londinium) and today is in reality two cities - London proper and the 'City of London' a financial district under total Illuminiati control and which is the hub of a concerted effort by bankers and their stooges to rule the world. London is not only the largest urban zone in the European Union but it has the largest Gross Domestic Product in the EU too. From about 1831 to 1925 it was the largest city in the world and once presided over the largest empire the planet has ever known, though it will be dwarfed by one last, short-lived end-time empire to come. As such, then, it has presided over both national and international affairs for both good and evil throughtout its history.

On Sunday 2 September 1666 at 2 a.m. a madman named Hubert set fire to a house on Pudding Lane that resulted in a catastrophic conflagration, a four day-long holocaust that nobody could control. There had been no rain for weeks and as a result the buildings went up like dry tinder, destroying the entire city's infrastructure. Prefiguring the final destruction of Babylon, the wealthy became paupers overnight:

"The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.' And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.' Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, 'What is like this great city?' They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.' Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for Elohim has avenged you on her!'" (Rev 18:9-20, NKJV).

After the destruction of London in 1666 Sir Edward Turner prevailed upon the King to view the disaster as a reprimand from Yahweh and to commit the nation to repentance from its sins by fasting and prayer every 10 October. I don't know how long this went on for but I imagine not for that long. Nobody is doing it today at least. The consequence of this disaster was that whilst London was eventually rebuilt it never regained its glory as the centre of international commerce. Yes, it arose to be the "jewel of the [later] empire" but it never visibly enjoyed its exalted position again.

1666 was not the last of London's judgments. Cholera epidemics raged in 1848 and 1866 during the colonial epoch but by far the most recent judgment was undoubtedly that of the London Blitz directed by Hitler from 1940 to 1945. Though I did not live through that, my parents' generation did and I heard their vivid tales not just of what happened in London but also in Coventry, Liverpool and elsewhere.

Though the 'City of London' is, as I have said, virtually its own sovereign state ruling the affairs of the world even in a post-imperial age (using money rather than guns), there can be little doubt that New York has since assumed the rôle as international trade mart. Some years ago I saw a vision of New York burning to the ground because of uncontrollable fires raging through its streets as judgment comes upon that Babylonian city too. And in more recent times I was shown a vision of the centre of London as a complete wasteland, hit by some undescribable catastrophe that had removed every building and landmark and leaving only a scorced ground broken up as though it had been rapidly dehydrated. I could see buildings in the far distance in a circle around the disaster scene which must have covered many square miles. I have since speculated as to what might have caused this (a terrorist nuclear device, for instance) but I have not been told more. All I know is that London, and other centres of the Babylonian slave system, will be judged and destroyed, and that we should be aware of that. Boris Johnson, the current Mayor, might like to take note, as might also the Mayor of Berlin which houses the original Seat of Satan from Asia Minor (Rev.2:13).

Natural disasters can and do suddenly strike when we least expect them. The recent volcanic eruption in Iceland and the numerous worldwide earthquakes and tsunamis (like Indonesia, China and Chile) in the last few years are still fresh in our memories. We can ultimately find no security in the arm of flesh - in man's puny efforts to control his destiny for all ungodly systems must eventually perish, and will do so as Scripture tells us. It is our responsibility to repent and get focussed on heavenly objectives, realising and accepting that the world and the system that governs it will ultimately perish and perhaps in the not too distant future now. Babylon will collapse in one hour and along with it all her wealth. Those who trust in her wealth will, like the citzens of London in 1666 soon find themselves paupers, and their devilish ambitions for world rulership and enslavement, dismantled by Yahweh's omnipotent hand.

There is only One in whom we can trust and whom we should obey. I urge you to choose Him today.
