"All of These are Given ...."
The Meaning of Dreams Explained
Have you ever wondered what your dreams mean? I'm sure you have. Most of them are, of course, what one calls "nonsense" dreams containing elements of daily activities, films we have seen, thoughts and fears we have, and so on. I woke up this morning having had one such dream and said to myself: "I'm tired of these potty dreams", wishing I didn't have them. No sooner had I said these words than I saw a vision and in large gold letters I saw written in front of me:
"All of these [dreams] are given to show you the light in which you are defective"
It is that simple. Our dream state is a reflection of the purity or impurity - order or chaos - of our inner thinking and feeling world. In short, it is a reflection of the state of our inner sanctification (or lack of it).
There are many who believe that dreams are to be almost exclusively seen in prophetic terms, that the people we dream about and the circumstances portrayed, are about things to come. In my experience almost no dreams are of this nature, prophetic dreams of the class mentioned being a very rare exception indeed. Rather, our nightly dreams are simply a way of showing us the degree to which Christ is the Lord or our lives or not. They show us how integrated or messy our thought and feeling life is, how we handle the information we receive each day, our understanding or lack of it and our state of inner wholeness or fragmentation.
They are not, as some think, utterly meaningless and therefore to be ignored, but are to jolt us into assuming responsibility for all the thoughts, feelings and deeds that are a part of our daily lives by making us stewards of all them - not just for stewardship's sake, but because Yah'shua (Jesus) warns us that we shall be judged for every thought we have, every word we speak, every deed we do. And again, not just for judgment's sake, but because our thoughts, feelings and actions form (or deform) us. And what we are, or have become, determines the kind of reward we receive in the next life.
So the next time you have an apparently meaningless dream, instead of dismissing it as being of no consequence, consider that it may in fact be a warning to you to tidy your life's act up in line with your profession as a believer in the Lord Yah'shua (Jesus).
