FAQ 145
Rejecting or Accepting Christ
NCW 17, March 1995
Q. Do New Covenant Christians believe that those who reject Christ will go to hell?
We believe that those who have rejected Him having had affirmative witness given of the Holy Spirit and had the opportunity to choose Him, will go to hell, because they are denying the Holy Spirit, and that such people are already living in a spiritual hell inwardly. Beyond that we do not know and believe that such judgments are to be left to God and not to man. (There are many who claim that hell does not exist but Jesus repudiates them -- Matt.5:22,29-30; 10:28; 18:19; 23:15,33; etc.).
However, we do know that those who otherwise reject Christ, for whatever reasons, will be cut off from the people of God or the theocratic kingdom of Israel (meaning, excluded from living together with God's people) (Acts 3:22-23; Deut.18:15,18-19), which will be established during the Millennium. This means that they will live outside the blessings of the Kingdom, including the prerogative to rule and judge both in religious as well as secular matters, and will not be permitted to dwell in Cities of Holiness.
The same principle applies in the seeding of this theocratic kingdom upon the earth today, namely, the New Covenant Church of God. Only those who receive Christ 100% are admitted into it; those who do not cannot enjoy the fruits or blessings of membership within that kingdom.
As to the principle of condemning people outside the Christian community, that is not a Christian's prerogative, but God's alone. Christians are only permitted to judge those of their own household.
