Do the New Age Churches Have a Better Scientific Grasp Than Christians?
NCW 50
Q. Why is it that only the New Age Churches seem to have detailed scientific treatises on Science and the order of the creation of the Universe (e.g. the Keys of Enoch) whereas evangelical and other Christians still use a text [the Bible] which tells us almost nothing? Surely God should be revealing more?
If you are looking for classical science then you will find some excellent materials published by Creationist Scientists (see for example, the Institute for Creation Research). These are mostly of the evangelical Baptist school and therefore reflect that denomination's teachings.
But if you are talking about the science of spirit (esoteric science) and its relationship to matter then you will not find very much in evangelical Christianity, unfortunately. The New Covenant Church of God, on the other hand, has a great deal of material -- revelations brought forth by its prophets. (For a sample, see The Cosmic Principle)The vast bulk of this material is, however, only to be had in the Holy Order, for reasons that I will explain.
Yahweh Elohim, the Creator-God, who created all things through His Son, Yah'shua haMashiach (Jesus Christ), is, of course, the Scientist par excellence. Just a casual look at our physical world will reveal great intricacy and design. It follows, of course, that the spirit must have a parallel intricacy and design. And indeed, those of us who have been privileged to see something of this design through revelation can testify that the world of spirit is as marvellous -- if not more marvellous -- than its physical manifestation here in our material universe.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ -- the Way to Salvation -- does not require that a man or woman has great scientific knowledge (whether of the spirit or of physical matter), because it is a matter of faith and thereafter obedience to true principles. Most of our exoteric revelations in the Olive Branch, which expand upon and clarify that which has already been revealed in the Bible, are about these principles of salvation.
It is true, however, that for those who have an inquisitive mind and desire to know God the Father even more intimately, are driven by a desire to know all things. This knowledge is not a matter of salvation but more a person desire for a knowledge of the truth which the Creator has planted within us. Whilst such knowledge cannot save us, it can enrich our walk in Christ, and to that end, and for those who are led to search in this manner, there is no doubt that much good can come forth, provided that our quest for knowledge does not dominate our thinking to the extent that we forget why it is we are actually here on earth.
As a scientist myself I naturally have great interest in mechanisms and processes. However, we must remember that the ancients, who did not have the same kind of scientific tools we we have today, nevertheless walked with, and continue to walk with, God in His fullness. Thus we must never suppose that an esoteric scientific knowledge is necessary for us in this life. Our God-given curiosity will be well satiated in the next world.
