Olsteen Prophecies?
Sent by CK
Preface
The following messages were sent to me in mid-August 2019 on three separate occasions by a minister from Kenya, giving the impression that these were prophetic words received by himself. My suspicious were aroused, though, by the perfect English, the American spelling, and the fact that the messages were sufficiently general as to be applicable to anyone, a trait of psychic readings. They were, as it turns out, spoken by a 'prosperity gospel' minister, Joel Olsteen, though no indication of the same was at any time given to me, just the name of the sender, his telephone number, and city location in Kenya.
There is nothing wrong doctrinally with these statements as far as I can tell and indeed most of what they said seemed to speak to my situation, which is why they grabbed my attention. The counsel, in a general sense, is good. But the hope they initially generated, based on the misguided assumption that these were prophetic words directly received by the sender, were dealt a blow when my suspicions were confirmed after some quick research showing that these words were second-hand after all.
Yahweh can, to be sure, use anyone to speak, even those who have false beliefs and who preach much false gospel like Joel Olsteen and others who deny many fundamental truths of the Faith, and words such as these, administered at key moments by a second party to one in need may indeed be inspired. It would have been better, though, had the sender attached some words, such as, 'I felt strongly led by the Spirit to send you these words by Joel Olsteen' instead of leaving me to guess they were directly communicated to him by Yahweh, leading me to believe that this was a rare case of a genuine navi (prophet) of Elohim (God).
This was, for me, a sobering reminder not to assume that we have everything right just because Yahweh inspires us with some, or even a lot of, truths. I could, potentially, be as right and wrong as Joel Olsteen, if not in the same areas, then at least in some others. Yahweh can, and does indeed, work in mysterious ways, even using heretics, unbelievers and outright pagans. This alone ought to remind us never to be presumptuous and to remain humble. A true word spoken by a leper does not make the words leprous.
The 'Prophecies'
We all face challenges in life; we all have storms. The key is to rise above the turmoil. Don’t let it get on the inside. You don’t have to fight through it. Remain at rest. Keep your seat, and God will fight your battles. Too often we’re fighting when we should be resting. We’re standing when we should be sitting. Yes, we have to stand strong, but in your spirit, even though it may be stormy, things you don’t understand, things that aren’t fair, you need to have faith that God is in control, that He’s fighting your battles, and that He’s bigger than what you’re facing. Don't miss "Take Your Seat"
God sees all the heartache, the tears, what didn’t work out, who did you wrong. What you’re believing for may not have happened yet—it may be taking a long time—but God is a faithful God. He’s not only still going to bring it to pass. That would be good enough, you would be satisfied, but God is going to do more than you asked. Stay inspired throughout the week.
The enemy may tell you all the reasons why you’re not going to get well, get out of debt, overcome that challenge. Instead of agreeing, start prophesying victory, favor, health, and abundance. The enemy wants you to curse your future with negative words and negative thinking. He knows he can’t stop you, but if he can convince you to live discouraged, thinking you’ve reached your limits, then that will keep you from your destiny. You have to turn it around.
