Fear, Doubt and Expectations
by Avah Batyah
Fear and doubt create expectations,
which create open doors for the enemy to attack
Afraid of the dark? You lie in bed at night and hear every little noise, and this fear creates expectations, worst case scenarios.
The same with doubt, which of course is fear-related. If we are not trusting, relying on, and in, Yahweh, we go off into the unknown and create our own emet (truth).
Now the enemy, who lies in wait, sees this and moves in, why? Because we have created open doors. And so he goes about fulfilling these fear-based expectations, which end up giving power to our fears and doubts, because if we believe our fears and doubts were correct once, we will learn to trust them next time. See the insanity? It creates a vicious cycle.
When we lose our shalom (peace) and become anxious and worried, we can make decisions that open up the door for demonic attack and turmoil! This allows the enemy to suggest threats of impending danger and leave us terrified and shaken, causing us to lose the guard that would preserve us in a storm.
We do need to be careful to not let feelings consume us but most importantly, we need to guard our hearts against fear, doubt, and sin - because it causes us to get our eyes off of Yahweh!
We need to give up the fear of being out of control, the doubt that Yahweh isn't working, and the sins of fear and doubt!
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Yahweh, thoughts of shalom (peace), and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon Me, and ye shall go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:11-14, KJV).
