Do Not Fear!
Those With Us are More Than Those Who are With Them
by 'Deborah Peterson'
“And when the servant of the man of Elohim arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And the servant said to him, 'Alas, my master! What shall we do!' So he answered, 'Do not fear, for those with us are more than those who are with them'. And Elisha prayed, and said, 'Yahweh, I pray, open his eyes that he may see'. Then Yahweh opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha” (2 Kings 6:15-17 NKJV).
Have you ever walked out in your heart in mind to look at a situation or a trial you may be facing, and just saw an army of opposition surrounding you? Just a huge host of tribulation arrayed against you, where you feel so small and overwhelmed that your heart would cry out 'What shall I do!' And in those moments, your soul faces the danger of slipping into despair?
It is those moments that the Ruach wants to whisper to your heart and say “Do not fear, for Those with [you] are more [and greater] than those who are against [you]. For if Elohim is for [you], who can be against [you]?”
There may be times we've heard the Ruach or loved ones being lead by the Ruach say this to us, yet still when we look out on our situation, just see the vast army of our situation against us, and think or feel “All I see is this huge army ~ where are Those who are more and greater who is supposed to be with me?”
It was in then Elohim's servant prayed that Yahweh would open the young man's eyes - and Yah did, and the young man saw. Note this - the huge armies for and with them had been there the whole time, but it had been that the man simply could not see them.
It may be like that for you today with whatever you're facing ~ that when you look out, all you see is the armies of your enemies aligned against you, and though you've been told Yah is with you and greater than all these, you don't see Him... that all you see is the situation looming over you. In these moments, cry out to Elohim to open your eyes, that yo may truly see with your heart that He who is greater than the armies arrayed against you is for you and with you, and that He is already arrayed against that army against you.
It may be that you have a loved one who's slipped into despair and overwelmned with their situation, who can't see Elohim... This is the time to seek Elohim like Elisha, praying “Yahweh, open their eyes that they may see”.
“What then shall we say to these things? If Elohim is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31, NKJV)
