A Drug Called Self-Worth
from NCW 68, May-July 2000
I had a dream the other night. The dream was about a woman who was a drug addict, and a Man who tried to set her free. The Man took her into His own home. The Man called her His wife. He loved her deeply. But the woman could not receive His love. Facing His love without her drugs was unbearable. She felt so naked and ashamed. She had nothing of value to offer the Man. She was afraid He would see this and stop loving her. So she ran away from the man. She ran to a hospital where she knew she could get some drugs. The Man was broken hearted to see her go. But He knew He could not make her stay. I heard Him telling another Man that He would wait for His bride, in the place that He had prepared for her. That He knew she would return to Him in time. That His love for her would remain.
This is what the Lord has been speaking to me about the dream.
The Drug Called "Self Worth"
There is a drug called "self worth". Many of us crave this drug. This is a drug we must die to in order to enter into His Love. This is not an easy process. Without this drug we feel "worthless". We must see that this drug holds us dependent on our performance, instead of at rest in His love.
He Has A Place Prepared For Us
He has prepared a place for us to enter into His love. This place is open to us, but we must choose to go there. In this place we have nothing to offer Him but ourselves, this is all He wants from us. Many of us know of this place and have spent time there. It is time for us to go there to stay.
The Path To Holiness
Yah'shua (Jesus) said, "if you love Me you will keep My commandments". He did not say, keep My commandments to prove to Me that you love Me. The path to holiness is to fall in love with Yah'shua (Jesus). To love His presence so, that we would not do anything that would separate us from Him. How do we fall more in love with Yah'shua (Jesus). We go to the place He has prepared for us and we allow Him to love us. We do not know how to love, how to trust, how to give. We must allow Him to love us first, and teach us. When we have entered into His Love, we will have entered into His Rest. When we have enterd into His rest, we will see the body of Christ as one. May you find your rest in Him.
