January 1997 - Latest Church News
At this the beginning of the secular New Year we would like to wish our readers a warm welcome in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to this edition of the New Covenant Witness.
Despite the horrors of the cyclones that destroyed our orphanages in South India in the New Year I am sure that only good will come of this. We have the promise of the Lord through a prophecy that the orphanages are in His hands. Terrible though the experience of wind and rain were, we praise God that none of the children were killed or injured. There is, however, an enormous repair bill that needs footing -- $20,000 to be precise -- so your prayers and financial help are desperately needed. I am confident that the new orphanages that arise will be better than the ones that were destroyed.
Much has been happening on the Church front too. Since going on-line on the Internet we have made numerous contacts. We anticipate the interest in the Gospel to grow as more people access our HomePage which is under construction. This is a large job, however, and we need the assistance of those experienced in HTML to contribute their skills and labour both to create and maintain the site.
The format of the present Witness is a little different to the previous ones inasmuch as we have opened up our pages to those not of our fellowship who would like to contribute their views. The purpose of this is to stimulate serious investigation on the part of the members of various matters of considerable interest to Christians. Some exciting material will be coming on the Trinity, Hell, the connection between UFOs, Mars, the Nephilim (fallen angels) and the Zodiac, Universal Salvation, Polygamy, Freedom of Thought, the Righteousness of God, Prophecies and Revelations from Christians not of our movement, and much else besides. You will find WebPage addresses at the end of articles obtained from the Web so that you can research these further if you are on-line.
Last year the Patriarchate announced that the Church would be built up “from the inside outwards” and this is proving very much to be the case. No congregations have been organised since April 1996 but there are a lot of seriously interested investigators who, if they accept the Gospel, will be the driving force of Church organisation themselves. We expect self-initiated study groups to begin before congregations are established and our investigators to begin evangelism on their own initiative as they are led by the Holy Spirit. This is how the Church will begin anew.
In the meantime we welcome the Christian Mission, Moldova, who last December joined with us in B’rit Chadashah Evangelical Association and with whom we are now making a tentative start to begin a joint ministry.
Our Norwegian readers will know of a prophecy issued last year in the Norwegian equivalent of the Witness (which runs different articles to the main English edition) concerning Norway and various crises that are to hit the nation for its meddling in the affairs of Israel (through the Oslo Accords) and for its increasingly militant stand against the laws of God. Though we have not been given any specific dates the sense is that things will begin to happen this spring, not just here in Norway, but globally. Expect the beginnings of great upheavals around April.
Finally, readers will know from B’rit Chadashah Evangelical Association Newsletter that the project for the gathering to Zion is still on, and that the place we have been led to is still for sale despite several bids. These have all, one after the other, fallen through as various contenders have mysteriously pulled out. We still need NOK 5 million which in our own strength we can never possibly manage. We pray to the Lord for grace!
There has been a great rejuvenation in the remnant of the Church this New Year as we have re-examined all our doctrines and practices in the light of biblical teaching. This has been an especially exciting time for me personally as the Lord has opened my eyes up to more understanding of His Word through inspiration and visions. The Olive Branch continues to expand. May the Lord be with you as you seek to do His will!
