A. Introduction
Reader: Father of the Mishpachah [standing at the table]
A1. In the Name of our Messiah Yah'shua I welcome you to this special dinner celebration called the Pesach Seder and pray Shabbat Shalom! over this assembly. Our Father in Heaven, Yahweh, has commanded us to observe the Passover throughout all generations of His people Israel, as the first believers did also (1 Cor.5:7-8). He said to Moses (Moshe):
A2. "When you enter the land that Yahweh will give you as He promised, observe this ceremony. And when your children ask you, 'What does this ceremony mean to you?' then tell them, it is the Passover sacrifice to Yahweh, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians'" (Ex.12:25-27, NIV).
A3. We who are gathered here are Messianic Israelites - 'Messianics' because we believe that Yah'shua is our Lord and Saviour - our Master and Deliverer - and 'Israelites' because we have responded to Yahweh's will that we observe all His commandments as revealed in New Covenant Torah and have become members of the Commonwealth of Israel.
A4. We belong to a nation scattered around the world which will soon be gathered into twelve tribal communities and one day be gathered to the Land of Promise when Yah'shua returns. Pesach is the first stage of a seven-part journey which will bring us home to our Promised Land inwardly and outwardly.
A5. We start this journey within by inviting Yah'shua into our hearts to begin the cultivation and transformation of the wild and lawless garden of our carnal Soul into a Paradise. This happens we dethrone self and Satan and ask Yah'shua to become our King instead. At that point we become members of His Kingdom and Israelites. This is accomplished through the first of our Heavenly Mothers, the Ruach haRishon, who comes to Yahweh's people on this day to bless and sanctify them. Therefore we invite Her to consecrate this day and dwell in our hearts.
Reader: Firstborn Son of the Mishpachah [standing at the table]
A6. Yesterday evening, during Passover Preparation Day, you heard the story of our ancestors who were made slaves by the evil Pharaoh. You recalled how Yahweh led them to freedom through their deliverer and their spiritual father, the prophet Moses (Moshe), into whom they were baptised when they crossed the Sea of Reeds (1 Cor.10:2). You learned that this story was a picture of how our Messiah, Yah'shua, brings deliverance to us from sin and guilt, frees us from the bondage of Satan, and gives us a new heart through the Ruach haRishon. Every year the older people are to tell the younger people this story and so pass this message on from generation to generation, as we are doing this evening.
B. Lighting the Candles
Reader: Mother of the Mishpachah operating in the Shegal haShabbat [standing at the table]
B1. We begin our celebration tonight by asking the mother who operates in the calling and anointing of the Ruach haRishon to light the first candle denoting Pesach, and the mother who operates in the calling and anointing of the Ruach haShanee to light the second candle denoting Chag haMatzah, while the father of the household gives the invocation.
Reader: Father of the Mishpachah [standing at the table]
B2. Blessed art You, Yahweh-Elohim, King of the Universe, who has commanded us to observe the feasts of Pesach and Chag haMatazah during this set-apart season.
B3. We light the Pesach candle [Aima haRishon lights first candle] as we invite the Ruach haRishon to enter into our hearts and minds this evening as we honour and remember Your Son Yah'shua, who is the Light of the world, and who invites all people everywhere to admit Him onto the Throne of their hearts as King of kings and Lord of lords (Rev.19:16), so that He may cover us through our fathers and husbands as we prepare to leave the world and the kingdom of darkness.
B4. We also light the Chag haMatazah candle [Aima haShanee lights second candle] as we ask the Ruach haShanee to also enter into our hearts and minds for the next seven days as we again honour and remember Your Son Yah'shua, who is the Ransomer of our souls (Mk.10:45), and who commands all people who have enthroned Him in their hearts to commence the process of removing sin from their lives, in the same way that we have left leaven out of the matzah bread which we shall be eating for a whole week at this sacred time.
B5. May the Name of our Father Yahweh be glorified and lifted up in the praises of our hearts this evening as we worship Him in our meditations at this sacred time, in Yah'shua's Name, Amen.
B6. Song: Praise to the Father Yahweh
1. Praise to the Father Yahweh! (x2)

We - lift - our - hands and hearts to the Throne of Yah, and Worship Yahweh-Elohim!
C. Presenting of Banners
Reader: Father [standing under banner]
C1. Above us is the Banner of the Mishpachah and today represents the Father, Yahweh, who presides over this Assembly as King of the Universe.
Reader: Firstborn Son [standing next to banner]
C2. Directly beneath the Banner of the Father is the Banner of the Son, Yah'shua, to whom the Father has given all authority and power, and who is therefore the head of this Assembly for the Father.
Reader: Aima haRishon [standing next to banner]
C3. To the right of the Banner of the Son is the banner of the first Heavenly Mother, the Ruach haRishon, who presides over Pesach and the first day of the week, which is a weekly commemoration of Pesach and of the time when Yahweh created Light through Her and separated the darkness from the light.
Reader: Aima haShanee [standing next to banner]
C4. To the left of the Banner of the Son is the banner of the second Heavenly Mother, the Ruach haShanee, who presides over Chag haMatazah and the second day of the week, which is the weekly commemoration of Chag haMatzah and of the time when Yahweh separated the waters of the earth from the waters of the sky, the earthly from the heavenly.
Reader: Father [standing under banner]
C5. I consecrate these banners as signs of the presence of the Elohim who have promised to be with us as we celebrate Pesach and Chag haMatazah in the two Ruachs who have been sent to sanctify us in Yah'shua's Name, Amen.
D. The Seder Display
Reader: Father [standing at the table]
D1. Over the centuries a tradition has evolved in which the chief symbols of Pesach are displayed on what is called a Seder Plate with each symbol depicting some part of the Passover story. The Bible mentions three chief symbols which are depicted on out Seder Plate today which are the three ingredients of redemption. These are the foods that Yahweh commands us to eat tonight.
D2. The first is the Shank Bone of a Lamb and symbolises the lamb eaten before the Israelites fled Egypt. Yesterday you were told that it represents Yah'shua, the Lamb of Elohim, who died for our sins.
D3. The second is the Matzah which is striped and pierced bread made with no yeast or leaven in it, reminding us of the Hebrews when they left Egypt in a hurry, and of Yah'shua who was beaten and pierced for our iniquities. Yesterday you were told the dough is us and that yeast represents the sin which we are to get out of our lives. Yesterday we searched the house for all yeast-based products and tomorrow morning we will put it out of the house.
D4. The third and last symbol is the bitter herbs representing the bitterness of slavery. Yesterday you were told that sin is slavery too which is why we need to get it out of our lives and turn bitterness into sweetness.
E. The Matzah
Reader: The Firstborn Son [standing at the table]
E1. Because this is also the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread or Chag haMatazah, the matzah bread - which we will be eating for a whole week - is a very important symbol. So we need to spend some more time looking at it.
E2. Look how flat the matzah is! The Israelites had to leave Egypt very fast and they were unable to wait for their bread to rise. It is often called the 'Bread of Affliction' which our fathers ate in the land of Egypt.
E3. The Scriptures tell us that leaven can sometimes be used as a symbol of sin, so unleavened bread is a symbol of having no sin. This bread is also a portrait of Yah'shua who had no sin. He is the 'Bread of Life'.
E4. He said: "I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world" (John 6:48-51, NKJV).
E5. Notice also that the matzah is striped (to represents the beatings that Yah'shua received) and pierced (to represent the piercing of the nails and spear in His body). When we eat the matzah we symbolically eat the body of our Messiah as He commanded and identify with Him as His sons and daughters.
F. The Pesach Lord's Supper
Reader: Father [standing at the table]
F1. In Mishapachah Lev-Tsiyon we serve different sacred meals depending on the depth of covenant-making that each believer has entered.
F2. At Pesach we serve matzah, unfermented wine and bitter herbs to everyone around our table who are believers in Yah'shua the Messiah, young and old, both those who are preparing themselves for water-baptism as catechumens in this Mishpachah as well as guests who are believers and have given their hearts to the Lord Yah'shua who may belong to other fellowships. This we are permitted to do by the Ruach haRishon and has the blessing of binding all of those, no matter what assembly or church they come from, who are truly seeking to follow the Messiah. At Pesach the entire Body of Messiah which recognises this ordinance is united. It is not, however, for those who do not believe and who are not seeking to commit themselves - or who have not already committed themselves - to water-baptism.
F3. It is written: "When the hour came, Yah'shua and his apostles reclined at the table. And He said to them, 'I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfilment in the kingdom of Yahweh.' After taking the cup, He gave thanks and said, 'Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of Yahweh comes.' And He took matzah, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.' In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you'" (Luke 22:14-20, NIV).
F4. The Apostle Paul (Sha'ul) said: "For whenever you eat this matzah and drink this cup, you proclaim Yah'shua's death until He comes. Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of Yah'shua in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of Yah'shua. A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognising the body of Yah'shua eats and drinks judgement on himself" (1 Cor.11:26-29).
F5. No one should partake of these elements until they have examined themselves thoroughly - that means we should discern our shortcomings and confess them, asking for forgiveness and covenanting not to wilfully repeat them. No one should partake of these elements who does not recognise that he is partaking of a sacred ordinance that has spiritual consequences in heaven and on earth. In other words, if he believes that he is just eating and drinking food, he should not partake. He must believe that he is partaking in a divinely sanctioned heavenly meal.
G. Blessing and Drinking The Cup
Reader: Father [standing at the table]
G1. We will now bless the cup. After the blessing, the wine will be poured, and everyone will lean on their left hand to denote spiritual freedom, as a slave cannot relax while eating or drinking like a freeman. We have all been called to be freemen:
G2. Blessed are You, Yahweh-Elohim, King of the Universe, who creates the fruit of the vine. We ask You to bless and sanctify this wine for all the souls who partake of it as we drink in remembrance of the New Covenant in the blood of Your Son, which was shed for us on the Cross, that through repentance and faith in His Name we might receive forgiveness of sins and the purification of our souls. Therefore we drink this cup, Holy Father, as a witness to You that we shall always remember Your Son Yah'shua, that we may have a fullness of the Ruach haRishon to be with us this night. Amen.
Aima haRishon pours wine.
G3. Yah'shua said: "Drink you all of it. For this is My blood of the New Covenant, which was poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins" (Mt.26:27-28)
Everyone drinks the cup while seated, reclining on the left side as a sign of freedom.
H. Blessing and Eating the Matzah
Reader: Father [standing at the table]
H1. We will now partake of the matzah as Yah'shua did during the first New Covenant Passover (Lk.22:19): "And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me'" (NIV).
H2. Blessed are You, Yahweh-Elohim, King of the Universe who has commanded us concerning the removal of the leaven of sin from our lives. We ask You to bless and sanctify this matzah for all the souls of all those who partake of it in remembrance of the body of Your Son Yah'shua which was broken for us [Father breaks matzah], as we witness to You that we are willing to take upon us the Name of Your Son Yah'shua, always remember Him, obey Your Torah, and keep the covenants we entered into, or are about to enter into, in baptism. We do this that we may always have a fullness of the Ruach haRishon in us as the foundation of our Gospel life. Amen.
Aima haShanee distributes the matzah.
H3. Yah'shua said: "Take and eat; this is My body given to you" (Lk.22:19; Mk.26:26; 1 Cor.11:24).
Everybody eats the matzah while seated, reclining on the left size as a sign of freedom.
I. Eating the Bitter Herbs
Reader: Father [standing at the table]
I1. We will now partake of the bitter herbs which symbolise the bitterness of slavery and the bitterness of sin which separates us from Yahweh. In eating the bitter herbs we also remember the bitterness of the atonement which Yah'shua went through for our sins.
I2. Blessed are You, Yahweh-Elohim, King of the Universe, who has commanded us to eat bitter herbs.
The firstborn son distributes the bitter herbs
Everybody eats the bitter herbs while seated.
J. Eating the Passover Meal
The Passover Meal is served.
J1. We will now pray over the Passover meal: "Blessed are You, Yahweh-Elohim, King of the Universe, who has ordained that we celebrate Pesach. Help us to always remember the two stories of how You gave freedom to Your people Israel, first from slavery in Egypt, and now our freedom from sin through the blood of Your Son Yah'shua. We ask You to bless and purify this food through the Ruach haRishon and the hands that have lovingly prepared it in Yah'shua's Name, Amen."
Passover Meal is eaten.
K. Conclusion
K1. Brethren and sisters, we now come to the conclusion of this first Josephite Passover Haggadah. We come before our Father in Heaven to invoke the blessings of Joseph, even this assembly, who is our tribal and national head, even as it is written:
"May Yahweh bless his land with the precious dew from heaven above and with the deep waters that lie below; with the best the sun brings forth and the finest the moon can yield; with the choicest gifts of the ancient mountains and the fruitfulness of the everlasting hills; with the best gifts of the earth and its fullness and the favour of Him who dwelt in the burning bush. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among his brothers. In majesty he is like a firstborn bull; his horns are the horns of a wild ox. With them he will gore the nations, even those at the ends of the earth. Such are the ten thousands of Ephraim; such are the thousands of Manasseh". Amen (Deut.33:13-17, NIV).
K2. And now let us receive the Aaronic benediction, until we meet again next year for Pesach. even as it is written:
"Yahweh bless you and keep you; Yahweh make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; Yahweh lift up His countenance upon you, and give you shalom". Amen (Num.6:24-26, NKJV).
May you be filled with the Ruach haRishon this day and forever more. Amen.
