[Disappointing and] Limited source material release

Click here to read my agenda for creating this website and my disclaimer

[I have to admit that I found the original title very promising: after all the references to the mysterious "source material", I was hoping for some spectacularly unexpected unknown facts about the NCCG to which I could point out that they were obtained illegally or some other comment. I was disappointed, however.

(My comments are in green and the emphasis in bold is mine too.)]

After careful consideration of the issues, as of August 20, 2006, I am publishing a limited amount of my NCCG source material. This is less than 1% of the actual source material that has been retained.

All of this information has been obtained by legal means, including any details mentioned in the "Explanation of significance" section.

In addition to the index below, source material can also be browsed via http index at http://www.geocities.com/nccg_concern/source .

[So… what do we have here? What the released "source material" actually IS, is a reproduction of discussion threads from the NCCG Cyber Community group, deleted a couple of days before nccg_concern made this article. Everyone in NCCG who follows the boards has read these things. I will be as liberal as to use the word "stupid" to characterise this new set of tactical "moves" from nccg_concern's one-man camp. I wonder where the "careful consideration" comes in. I suppose somehow, maybe deeply in his subconscious, he sees that this is in reality no-big-deal material, so he proceeds in making lengthy explanations of why it's so significant. In my opinion, this source material release is 100% pointless: re-publishing things which were deleted less than a week ago. The only thing it serves is to indicate what sort of stuff nccg_concern finds enjoyable/worthwhile to collect. Look out for nccg_concern's juicy accusations that lack evidence (the icing on the cake, as usual).]

    Warning To The Family

    http://www.geocities.com/nccg_concern/source/warning-to-the-family-COMPLETE.html

In March, 2006, Christopher Warren perpetrated a hoax among his followers in which he portrayed a large, physical "attack" being made against the cult compound. This attack was supposed to have involved many "satanists" physically approaching and surrounding the compound, using pickup trucks as a means of transportation. God is reported to have killed most of the "satanists" involved, leaving only piles of ashes for their bodies. The pickup trucks that would have been left behind by the pulverized satanists are not mentioned. In addition to the cult members being aware of a supposed attack, Warren's small children are evidenced as having been participating in the beliefs about the hoax. [I am not going to argue whether or not Satanists attacked C.C. Warren. For all I know, this might have been the case, but I wasn't there so obviously I can't inform the concerned public. The thing is, nccg_concern wasn't there either. Now, I wouldn't mind it so much if nccg_concern would use his always-handy scientific lingo here to say that there is a chance that the attacks never did happen. I believe however, that accusing a person for perpetrating a hoax, especially so many months later, and especially publicly requires REALLY careful consideration. Saying a story is a hoax before telling it or wondering where did the pick-up trucks go does not fall into the category of "careful consideration" but rather into the category of "all I want is to make it sound bad and stupid so you all hate Warren".

Throughout this "attack", Warren continually updated a message board thread within his groups.msn.com/nccgcybercommunity cult web site. This was his way of keeping some of the NCCG members across the internet aware of the details of the ongoing hoax (although it was also being discussed in private internet communications with certain members as well). [I'm curious as to how does nccg_concern know about the content of private internet communications with certain members… But then it gets even weirder:] Warren  based some of the details of the hoax attack on information reported  by a follower who appears to have been experiencing acute delusions due to her NCCG involvement. [… OK. Let me rephrase that last one so it's made clear for us "uninvolved" people: The "cult leader" Warren, who, according to nccg_concern, WILLINGLY induces members of his group to have delusions (in order to manipulate them – this accusation is all over the nccg_concern website), TRUSTS THESE DELUSIONS. And he trusts them so much that he publishes them as facts to be seen in a semi-public message board. Well, are they delusions or not then? Because if C.C. Warren is a devious and ingenious manipulator, I'm pretty sure he would keep the "delusions" he induces between his "victim" and himself, isn't that common sense? But he doesn't do that. He actually publishes these details and backs them up WITHOUT EVEN MENTIONING that someone else informed him, but rather presenting them as HIS OWN KNOWLEDGE. Hmm… This makes no logical sense UNLESS
C.C. Warren does not induce delusions and trusts that the knowledge which nccg_concern calls delusion, is actual revelation (because if he had induced it, he wouldn't trust it). So basically, C.C. Warren doesn't carry the blame of planning a hoax or of inducing delusions, but he is "guilty" of believing in divine revelation. Well that's his prerogative, at least in my country. I know I wouldn't attack anyone for that or call it a hoax at any rate.]

My investigation into this attack indicated that there were NO missing persons reported, however. Neither the Arvika police department nor the Varmland regional police received any such reports regarding people who went missing during the days the "attack" occurred. [OK, this comment is a little piece of common sense for nccg_concern's information: Satanists, whatever they do, WOULD NOT report things to the police – obviously. If Satanists did attack C.C. Warren, what does nccg_concern imagine they would tell the police? "I need to file a report against a person who prayed to God and made my friends reduced to ashes!". I don't think so.]

There was a follow-up "attack" in May, but it was less dramatic.

This hoax was done at a strategic time, as Warren has been engaged in a process of attempting to get people (usually women) to move to the compound, and belief in this incident would have worked as verification for the women as to their being "prophets". Additionally, it would have served as [… as what? Anyway, the "attempting to get people to move to the compound" is not backed up by any clue or evidence and not only that, but C.C. Warren had at the time visitors there with pre-decided date of departure from his house. After nearly 6 months, the standard population of the "compound" has actually reduced by one person, rather than increased, and this was not due to lack of trust or shift of loyalties, but because of practical non-emotional and non-religious issues. So it seems to me that it's nccg_concern who's practicing a hoax here.]

The message board thread is included here. I highlighted some areas of the text in order to aid readers in skimming the document. [Thanks. (FYI: This also protects the readers from being hypnotised – nccg_concern believes firmly that C.C. Warren's writings are designed to hypnotise the reader. Look here and at the end of this article; he really believes that).]

    "NCCG Critics" message board archive

    http://www.geocities.com/nccg_concern/source/nccg-critics/

Christopher Warren originally had a message board named "NCCG Critics" within the cult's groups.msn.com/nccgcybercommunity web site. The board eventually came to work against Warren's apparent intentions for this message board in two ways.

    • the arguments on this "nccg_concern" web site probably became too powerful for him to encourage it to be deliberate exposed to NCCG members due to the inclusion of Bible-related material, [I'm sure nccg_concern would like to believe that. But no, they were not particularly powerful. Many people in the NCCG Cyber Community board have questioned the beliefs of NCCG, but none did so due to nccg_concern's activities.]
    • Warren displayed incidents of very poor judgment and out of control reactions regarding persecution of individuals he believed to be the "nccg_concern" site author. [He did, but these incidents were laying around for months before being removed. I wonder, why, if he was so embarrassed, didn't he erase them as soon as possible?]

Around the week of August 13, 2006, Warren deleted all of the threads within this message board that referenced "nccg_concern", including the ones documenting his poor judgment and out of control reactions, and renamed the message board "Cults and Critics". [He also deleted all the official responses to nccg_concern, much of which happened to make sense and be useful to defend the ministry. Because of that, I doubt he was doing it out of shame in order to cover up.]

The original message board, before this mass deletion and renaming, is included here in it's entirety. [It's a non-public board, and I'm not sure it's (at least morally) right to reproduce it without permission, but OK.

Anyway, I don't think all this lengthy reproduction of old material matters, to be honest. That's why I was so disappointed. I was hoping to find something juicy here, but old message boards? However, nccg_concern seems like he thinks he's managed to hit the nail on the head, so to speak, by publishing the deleted message boards as soon as they were removed from their original host. THAT, to me, is poor judgement. People in NCCG Cyber Community, to give you the whole picture, don't really care so much anymore anyway – they didn't care much when the pot was boiling, let alone 2-3 months later. Maybe to nccg_concern reproducing deleted posts is a BIG DEAL because obviously he doesn't have anything better to do in his life (or he would do it), but to the rest of us common mortals, it doesn't make all the difference.]

Rejection of complaint #1 by authorities

[What authorities? PO is merely a journalist's self-monitoring body, it has no legal status. It's a private organisation accountable to no-one. It is no "authority" except to the journalists who voluntarily subscribe to it.]

    Warren complaint #2:

    • Original text http://www.geocities.com/nccg_concern/source/complaint2.html
    • Annotated text

On June 10, 2006, A local Swedish newspaper named Nya Wermlands-Tidningen (www.nwt.se) published a newspaper article that identified and documented that NCCG was a destructive cult. Christopher Warren began a series of complaints to various press oversight authorities. His written complaints, and a rejection of one of the complaints, is included here. [C.C. Warren published these in another website which is now offline though. Again, nccg_concern proceeded to reproduce, but unfortunately this box does not explain the significance of reproducing a complaint and its rejection and then another one. Personally, I think none of nccg_concern's business anyway. If C.C. Warren hadn't published these, he wouldn't have been able to obtain them by any legal means.]

The journalist who researched and wrote the article is named Gustav Sjoholm, and he can be reached at +46 54 199 680.

    Article 303 "SufferGrace"

    Excerpts

    http://www.geocities.com/nccg_concern/source/art303-excerpts.html

Article 303 "SufferGrace" is a long document, one of hundreds Christopher C. Warren has written and continues to write. It is written in a rambling, somewhat disorderly way that can invoke a hypnotic state in readers. [Nccg_concern has elsewhere stated that he has trouble understanding large volumes of written material in an organised way, so saying that the impression it gave him was that it was "rambling" and "disorderly" comes as no surprise. I think the real reason he avoids reading long documents carefully though is because he's afraid of becoming hypnotised…]

A few short excepts from this document are included here. [… so, to make it simpler for everyone, he chops them up for brevity's sake.] The excerpts address women's equality issues and paranoia about the Illuminati. [The characterisation "paranoia" is nccg_concern's own opinion. There are thousands of people who believe that the Illuminati exist and it's a matter of worldview and which sources a person chooses to trust more than anything else. So I would again consider it carefully before I characterise such a large group of people as "paranoids".]

[By the way, considering the short period of time for which some of these articles were published, I'm beginning to think that nccg_concern immediately copies-and-pastes and saves somewhere just about everything new C.C. Warren publishes. No wonder how all this is less than 1% of his source material. I'm also pretty sure it's less than 1% of everything C.C. Warren has written. Elsewhere, nccg_concern states that he has obtained nearly all his information from C.C. Warren himself and very little from third parties. I have to admit that when I first read that, I thought he was lying. Now I believe him, but you see, back then, I (mistakenly) thought that the "source material" that he so earnestly kept concealed for "privacy concerns" was not all the boring articles about how women should dress and threads from message boards discussing newspaper articles. Back then I thought: well, if it's all available out there, why go into all that trouble to save it? Proves that nccg_concern finds that sort of activity worthwhile – going around saving material from public and semi-public websites. Well… if he enjoys it so much…]
