Your Invisible Allies
A Testimony of Angels
"This man went up from his city yearly to worship and sacrifice to Yahweh-Tsebaoth in Shiloh" (1 Sam.1:3, NKJV).
You may have noticed that a great many of my devotionals include a military element. This is partly because I am a man (for such things hold little interest for the majority of women) and partly because Yahweh is a military Elohim (God).
Check up a standard Protestant Bible like the King James Version and you will find Yahweh described as "Lord of Hosts" 245 times, or more correctly, Yahweh-Tsebaoth or Yahweh of Armies.
Who are His troops? Legions upon legions of malakim (angels) of many kinds. They keenly await their divine commission to lauch offensives against evil. They are busy, night and day, down here. We would be amazed at how busy they are if we could always see them.
As a deliverance minister, it has been my privilege to watch them in action a number of times in open vision in both small and large contests. Everyone who has received salvation - or whom Yahweh knows will receive salvation at some point - is assigned at least one such permanent malak (angel) and more when required:
"Are [malakim/angels] not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?" (Heb.1:14, NKJV).
Whether you are aware of them or not, they are there - constantly - and are so recorded in Scripture throughout history.
The prophet Elisha was once invested by a Syrian army sent to capture him. His young assistant was appalled to see the vast number of chariots and horses surrounding the city where they lodged. Not so Elisha:
"So [the king of Syria] said, 'Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him.' And it was told him, saying, 'Surely he is in Dothan.' Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. And when the servant of the man of Elohim (God) arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, 'Alas, my master! What shall we do?' So he answered, 'Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.' And Elisha prayed, and said, "Yahweh, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.' Then Yahweh opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha" (2 Kings 6:13-17, NKJV).
Is Yahweh the same today? I can testify that He is. A few years ago, when my own home came under massive spiritual and physical attack in the days when we were engaged in delivering people from satanic covens, my eyes were also opened in the manner of Elisha's servant, and I saw thousands of malakim (angels) surrounding my property. And this was not the first time. Several times I have seen a group of malakim (angels) around me when I was in prayer or in great need or spiritual strengthening. They are real! For it is written:
"The malak (angel) of Yahweh encamps all around those who fear Him" and delivers them" (Ps.34:7, NKJV).
Who is the "malak (angel) of Yahweh"? It is none other than our Saviour - our Deliverer - Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ). And He encamps around us with and through the Hosts of Heaven - the armies of Yahweh our Elohim (God).
