"[Yahweh]...established [the heavens] for ever and ever; He made a choq (decree) which shall not pass away - he fixed their bounds which cannot be passed over" (Ps.148:6, Amp.V.)
My wife recently came across this phrase which she has repeated several times as it is quite catchy and so very true: 'Your ego is not your amigo'.
Were our ego to obtain absolute power, or even just a lot, the planet would be plunged into instant chaos. We would try to bend people, circumstances and the planet to our will. Imagine everyone trying to do that simultaneously.
And yet isn't that precisely what we try to do with Yahweh in our prayer life? We want Him to bend people and circumstances to that we can realise various goals. We would, if we could, issue decrees and expect people to bow down to them. We issue them all the same and then wonder why life is like being locked up in a tiny room with barely enough room to move about in. The truth is, He expects us to bend our will to His Decrees.
The only Decrees that 'work' are those that Yahweh Himself establishes. He allows us to walk in our delusion for a while, especially if we can recruit enough people to agree with us, since He must respect free agency - and a lot of people united in evil can cause much woe for a while.
Hitler boasted tthe triumph of the nazi will and decreed a 1,000 year Reich. It lasted 12 years. The Bolsheviks decreed their new Worker's Utopia to end capitalism, liberty and democracy forever - it lasted a little longer, 74 years. The Red Chinese decreed theirs too and it's been going for 61 years - it hasn't much longer to run. The European Federalists are the latest, decreeing their Third Way Socialist Utopia, with the American Socialists trying to catch up as quickly as they can. The Swedes are trying theirs and, like the others, creating tyrrany. And they all want to make it into a man-made and man-ruled Global Utopia, which the Bible tells us will be hell-on-earth for 7 miserable years for all but a tiny handfull of people who gather into cities of refuge.
The decrees of men are futile, especially those that defy Elohim (God). Man simply doesn't have the power to back those decrees up, even with demonic help. What Yahweh has decreed cannot be altered. The élitists will fail even if they may fool many for a while.
Yahweh has already decreed what your life is for and your decrees are futile. He grants you limited autonomy to demonstrate how pwoerless you actually are in the hope of persuading you to be reasonable. But if you want to commit eternal suicide that is your authentic free choice, but how very, very foolish.
Realising that Yahweh exists is the first discovery man must make. Discovering that He loves us is the second. And discovering that He is Sovereign is the third.
The honest man realises how powerless he is. The evil man tries to recruit demonic power to serve him and it ends up destroying him. But the wise man realises that Yahweh is in full control and that it is in his best interests - always - to yield sovereignty of his life to Him and walk in divine tavnith (pattern).
Yahweh calls every man and woman to have an open mind but not so open that his brains fall out. Moreover, we are to open them only according to tavnith and close out all lies. The save is true of the lev (heart) whioch we are called to open but not to open it so wide that we let the filthy flood waters of the demonic in too - a heart abandoned outside tavnith, without discernment, is a heart that is inviting the enemy to crush it.
So why keep on fighting Elohim (God)? It is like an atom taking on the Universe, or a pingpong ball trying to demolish a house.
"[Yahweh] I proclaim to you: Elohim (God), who made the world and everything in it, since He is Sovereign of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all chayim (life), ruach (breath), and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Master, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring'" (Acts 17:23-29, NKJV).
So many have defied the Creator, where are they today? And what is their legacy? Man continues to repeat their vain, presumptuous and dangerous mistakes. Will you follow the doomed crowd or "grope for Him and find Him"? Yahweh's emet (truth) is our guide, our light and our protection for body, mind and lev (heart). Take refuge in Him now!
