Become Immovable
The Foundation of Righteousness
"He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart; he who does not backbite with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbour, nor does he take up a reproach against his friend; in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but he honours those who fear Yahweh; he who swears to his own hurt and does not change; he who does not put out his money at usury, nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved" (Ps.15:2-5, NKJV).
Our Heavenly Father's laws and requirements have not changed save in respect of the Levitical administrations and priesthood, and Satan is still the lawless one trying to get man to be lawless. Yah'shua (Jesus) said quite clearly that if we loved Him we would obey His commandments (Jn.14:15) so really there is no debate about whether we should obey the Torah or not, unless you are making a public proclamation that you are in rebellion and love it.
The thing that confuses so many believers is not the claim that the Law has been abolished (which is preposterous if you just pause to think about it, for then you have lawlessness - 2 Thes.2:8-9; 1 Tim.1:9) but that the PENALTY for law-breaking has been abolished for those who will trust in the blood of Christ. Without that payment for sin we are doomed, therefore without Messiah we are doomed to pay for our own sins (Tit.2:14; Heb.8:12; 10:17). It was lawless hands that crucified the Master (Ac.2:23) so how could a lawless believer possibly exalt the Master whom he professes to follow?
Another area of confusion is the nature of salvation which is both past, present and future, otherwise believers would not be commanded to continue working out their salvation in fear and trembling (Phil.2:12). There is a race to be completed (1 Cor.4:25-26; 2 Tim.4:7) and we cannot rest on the false laurels of believing that all we have to do is get to the starting line. There's a first principles milk gospel and a maturation meat gospel (Heb.5:12-6:14) - we have to move on from our initial salvation of trusting to one of obedience, the one stemming from the other, and like it or not we will be judged as to whether we have obeyed our Father's laws and not our own flesh-inspired edited collection.
Let us therefore in constancy to the truth and to Yahweh's Laws, through faith in Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ), become immovable in righteousness.
