Teshuvah #39 The Judge
Knowing Who Presides at Your Judgment
I wonder what it will be like after Yah'shua has returned and we are waiting for the Final Judgment - the last Yom Kippur? Have you ever sat around waiting for a court case to open? Mercifully the only time I have ever gone to court for a judgment was over the custody of my children from my first marriage. The cards were stacked against me as a father but Yahweh was full of grace and I witnessed a miracle take place. But before I went into that courtroom I had no idea what the outcome would be and so naturally I was somewhat nervous. But this was over a judgment that would only affect me for as long as my children were minors. Can you imagine what it will be like going into a courtroom to have the outcome of eternity determined?
More and more people, not wanting to accept that there is such a final judgment on humankind, are instead trading in the truth for the New Age, Hindu and Buddhist lie that if we mess up in this life we can be reincarnated again and again until we all get it right and everyone is saved and makes it. That people are willing to gamble their souls in such a way is quite astonishing however irrational and however mocking it is of any kind of divine justice. We must therefore emphatically proclaim to the world that this life is all there is to get things right:
"it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Messiah (Christ) was offered once to bear the sins of man" (Heb.9:27-28, NKJV).
Moreover, judgment is not by any old 'god'. The God(s) of the Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, animists, new Agers or others will not be giving a Muslim, Jewish-, Hindu-, Buddhist- or animist-type judgment for their followers because these 'gods' are to be judged along with mankind! Who is the Judge?
"He (Yahweh) has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man (Yah'shua) whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead" (Acts 17:31, NKJV).
Yahweh is the Judge but He has appointed His Son to carry out the judging on His behalf:
"Yah'shua (Jesus) said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me'" (John 14:6, NKJV).
So in other words, if you are trying to bypass Yah'shua the Judge to get Yahweh's judgment you are in for a rude awakening. No one gets to even talk to the Father, let alone be Judged by Him, except through the Son. That is the cosmic arrangement. To deny it is to deny reality and get you nowhere. From whom, indeed, are we expecting to get our rewards for faithful service?
"Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Master [Yah'shua], the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing" (2 Tim.4:8, NKJV).
You see, the Judgment Seat of Elohim (God) and the Judgment Seat of Messiah (Christ) are interchangeable - they are one and the same.
If you were going to court you would want to find out all you could about your judge, wouldn't you? When my lawyers discovered who the judge would be at my child custody case, we tried to find out everything we could about her in the time that we had. A wise person, who knows from experience that justice is something built into man, who believes in a Supreme Power in the Universe, will also want to know the standard by which he will be judged both while he lives and after he has died. It would be a highly irresponsible and reckless person who just left judgment to 'fate'.
No man knows how long he will live. Have you seriously considered Who your Judge is going to be and do you know by what Standard He will judge you by? If you don't know at this late hour, now is the time to urgently find out!
