Section 28
Revelation on Brumalia (Christmas) I
Revelation on Christmas and other festivals (see also NC&C 198). The saints are cautioned not to blindly condemn but discern the good which can be done in these festivals [Oppsal, Oslo, Norway].
1. Ye have done well in rejecting those festivals of the world called Christmas, Easter, Lent, Halloween, and all other festivals not ordained of Me, saith the Lord.
2. Nevertheless sometimes ye have judged too harshly as a people and have allowed the letter of the law to blind you to the goodness that cometh into the world especially at Christmas and Easter, for at these times I am able to work much healing ministry.
3. Ye of the [New Covenant] Church of God have been shown a better way; nevertheless ye shall have regard for the Light which I, the Lord, bring to all people in all seasons, and not seek to hinder it, but rather uphold it whilst retaining the true pattern in your own worship.
4. Ye shall ever judge righteous judgment and have regard for the inner Light in all things;
5. For the outer shall perish and that which is inner, which is pure, shall return unto the Father who gave it, and find its abode in peace.
6. Be ye not hypocrites and rail against those who observe the festivals of the world in ignorance, for ye also were once ignorant;
7. For per chance a man may come to Me {Christ} through a fallen festival, and in this ye shall greatly rejoice;
8. For one man esteemeth one day to be holier than another on account of the works of the Spirit in his life on that day, and ye shall by no means condemn himfor this, but rather rejoice in the providence of Heaven (Rom.14:5ff).
9. But as a Church ye shall observe only those days and festivals which I have appointed1, for in the perfect pattern of Heaven cometh a greater outpouring of Light;
10. And this also that ye may be one one mind and heart, rising in the perfect unity of the faith to which ye have been called by covenant and by sacrifice. Even so. Amen.
